Big Ten Basketball

That is a wooooooooooof loss for michigan.

Gophers even beat CMU and never were in jepardy of losing.

Marquette was up 20-30 the entire game. And I was kinda pissed cause I thought CMU looked like a brutal team.

WTF

Michigan is legit bad this year. Should have lost to Ohio, and EMU played them equal all night. They're probably 2nd worst team in the league. They're a weird team(played UNC & UK tough) so it wouldn't surprise me if they did beat some of the upper teams in the league though.

remember when i said that maybe we should wait until we are a few years removed from the Beilen era to start judging Howard as a HC? and then @ericd7633 hit me from behind w/ a steel chair and started to give Howard a rimjob?

And awful. Hired an assistant at a school that didn't make the NCAAT during his tenure, and that school makes it just about every fucking season. He interviewed for the NIU job, didn't get it, and a couple weeks later we hired him. He's waaaaaaay in over his head. The hot start last year masked a lot of things. It's been hideous this year. If you thought Manning was bad, you haven't see anything yet. Lol.

Yeah hiring BJ off of coaching X teams that couldnt make the tourney was pretty bad. Guy just doesnt seem to know what hes doing as a coach and what type of team he wants to have and thats what kills me.

Like its not a fair comp at all due to coaching experience but like its wild when I watch Marquette play and then the Gophers play.

Win or lose I know exactly what the fuck game plan Shaka came up with for a game to make his style have its best chance of success at how the oppoenent plays. I know the exact type of player hes going to recuit for all positions.

Watching this gophers team I have not 1 time had any fucking clue what their plan was for that given game against the opponent. Much less the actual team identity/style. His recruiting is off to a nice start, but I have no clue what type of roster hes trying to build. Seems like hes just snagging random(albeit solidly rated) players. LIke if Fox and Ihnen didnt get hurt. This team would have like 10 forwards and 2 guards. 1 of which cant defend BIG10 athletes.

Gates at Mizzou is looking mighty nice right now.

Lmaaaaoooo. I was just thinking about this. I may have been wrong about that.

they also got slaughtered by a team that's 57th in KENPOM

Yeah, there are a ton of different comps out there who have had success in year two. We're on pace to be the worst team in my lifetime. It's bad. I hope we win a B1G game, but im very skeptical.

B1G gonna be a weird conference all year long. The predictive metrics are MUCH better than the resume based metrics like SOR and KPI. Will be interesting to see how that affects seeding/selection in March.

hopefully the committee does right by America and makes the Big Ten a one bid league

Yeah I have a buddy who is a Gopher diehard and foolishly gets his hopes up every year. Cant even enjoy college basketball this season cause they are so putrid.

I always tell him to stop doing that shit.

The league is very mediocre, but it's still probably gonna get 7 or 8 bids because leagues like the P12 and A10 are really bad, and the ACC is down again(though better than last year IMO).

It's been rough being a Gophers fan. Lmao. We have TWO tournament win this century. My guess is like 150 programs have more than that. At this point, a success would be not playing on opening night of the BTT.

Yeah this is 4 straight years of weakling wednesday it looks like.

Gophers were one of the few teams that had to play a conference tournament game before Rona hit in 2020 due to that. Brutal.

I think it's like 7 of the last 9 years once we do it again this year. Just brutal. Just getting to the QF is exciting and even that rarely has happened.

And yeah, I remember that 2020 BTT game. I was looking forward to playing Iowa to see Garza vs. Oturu. Shit never happened and we've been awful ever since. 10-32 in B10 play since then. Ugh.

Iowa had an 18-5 run over a 4 minute stretch at the end of the first half

That means over the other 28 minutes they've been outscored 53-16

By Nebraska

53-16

This may be the worst Iowa team since the Lickliter years

Nebraska legit made 2 baskets the last 14 minutes ( 8 pts total ) and Iowa still lost by 16

FML lol
Lol @ Iowa.

Nebraska has beat Iowa in football and basketball now.
We Are Doomed Reaction GIF

Pretty sad that Nebraska football is celebrating beating Iowa...
Ummm you know how bad Nebraska was this year and for long time. I mean Iowa fans have been bragging about their win streak over terrible Nebraska teams for years

Also I just realized, Ola Jospeh has 0 assists this year. Haha thats incredible.

and we go from losing to a directional Michigan to beating Maryland by 35. lol
