Big Ten Basketball

Final 1 seed is going to be interesting. I'd still might lean towards whoever finishes 2nd in the B1G. Michigan running away with it certainly doesn't help matter on getting another 1 seed.

Pretty much everyone in that 4-8 range keeps losing every week lol. My money is it ends up being Nova . They're the best bet to win out other than Houston and I can't see Houston getting a 1 even if the other teams all drop 1 +.

My guess would be them as well, but their resume is so blah and wouldn't get all that much better even with winning out. If they won out, they'd pick up at most only 3 Q1 wins and that's if UConn stays in the top 50. And they only have two as it stands now.

You're probably right although everybody (with common sense) knows this year is different and because of limited OOC the pure NET doesn't mean as much.

Lunardi still has OSU as a 1 today after 2 losses and Nova winning last 2. They're going to make it hard for us to pass OSU/Illinois and I do think we're going to lose at least one more game.

I'm OK with Nova being a 2 or even a 3 outside of Baylor/Zagas bracket just so I can dream with a Final 4 with us 3. Not that it will happen, but it would set up for a nice anticipation.

Nunge done for the year

I think Nova is a really good team, I just wonder if their resume would be strong enough? I do think they'll need to win out to be in position to get the final 1 seed.

Pretty significant loss. Bummer for Iowa.
I actually think it helps come tourney time. Wouldn't mind a few other bench guys being out for the year. Whatever keeps Fran from trying to go 12 deep vs a good team lol

I agree Iowa should roll with their starters much more.

But Nunge is one of the few bench pieces they could really use imo. Him, Murray and probably Toussaint(by default of needing some sort of back up guard). Those 3 can provide beneficial rest at times.

I'm not a "depth is key " guy. Never really have been but especially not in a short year with 21-22 year old kids playing twice a week . It may end up hurting if Garza gets in foul trouble though. I've just seen our bench cost us too many games this year ( or at least the chance to stay in games). Come tourney time I'm perfectly fine playing 6 guys every game if it is close

No depth isn't key. But you can't play only 5 guys. Whether its foul trouble or rest. And I think Nunge is a considerably better option than anyone not named Keegan Murray(I just now realized hes apparently got a twin on the team?!?!?!).

I don't think this injury in any way moves Iowa to "no chance" territory. But I do think it complicates things. Unless Garza is able to effectively play 38+ per game from here on out.

You're probably right.

You could argue Florida State is in a similar spot. Probably just as good as OSU and Illinois as far as Vegas is concerned, but the conference is too weak to get enough wins. It is what it is.

There are a lot of teams in the mix for a 2 seed I would rather Iowa play as a 3 seed than be a 2 and get FSU as our 3 I can tell you that much

This dolt been saving this one for 2 months. And we let the idiot tweet it.
