Big Ten Basketball

If we were having this discussion 20 years ago? Maybe. And yes I am aware that some Belien teams made it to the NC game in the last decade but I think its a stretch to call them a "top program"

Not now. Wisconsin is the top program in the conference

I'm not a huge Big10 follower , but I'd say Michigan State...

What's funny is Jalen Rose was on the radio today talking about the incident and he said Michigan basketball always has a mark on their back because they're the top program (historically) in the league.

LMAO, is that correct? It doesn't sound right.

the top three winning percentages belong to Illinois, Indiana and Purdue.

Michigan was pretty awful from 99-08

Oh yea.

I forgot about Indiana. They would be undisputed winner if it were 2000.

Now it's a little open for discussion.

I would say historically the top 4 would be

MSU
Michigan
OSU
Indiana

5th is tough between Illinois and Purdue

Iowa 7th

If we are talking since 2000

MSU
Wisky
OSU
Michigan

Would be my top 4

They were predicted to finish 10th in their conference.

Juwan is obviously a sore loser and what he did was just an awful example to his players.
But if the Wiscy coach has s gonna call 2 TOs in the last minute up 10+ that pisses off Howard, it’s probably not a good idea to try to grab Howard and let him go by in the hand shake line.

that said it’s just a matter of time until Juwan loses his shit again unless he figures some things out

Has Juwan came out with a statement on what he did was wrong?

i don't really interpret it that way. I think Gard was trying to clear the air, but Howard wouldn't look in his direction. Gard grabbed his arm to get his attention, so they could talk. Howard, being the man child that he is, used that as a reason to get in Gard's face in a confrontational way.

It will be a joke if Gard gets suspended.
If that is what Gard was trying to do, he gets an A for intent and an F for timing. The guy just got his ass kicked. He's in a foul mood. Shake his hand and keep moving. Call him later to clear the air. Or don't.

Video has shown that Howard said "I'll remember that timeout" as he tried to wake by, that's when Gard grabbed him to discuss it. Both were mistakes, one was more of a mistake than the other. I didn't think Howard had done anything at first when I said Gard would get a game off, but was corrected.

You gotta be shittin' me. Does anyone else know this?

Howard was more upset that his team got their ass kicked than with the timeout.

Yeah, Howard should have kept his mouth shut and Gard should have kept walking. Howard obviously likes trying to intimidate with himself instead of intimidating with a good basketball team. He's shown that shit in the past.

I ain't blaming Gard for what he was trying to do because I don't think he had any ill intent. Quite the opposite. But he is old enough and experienced enough to know that wasn't the time to do it. Impulse got to him too. But he only deserved a reprimand in my opinion. Or maybe not even that. Just a good old private ass chewing for his timing. JMO

Historically, it's Indiana IMO. But they've been pretty much irrelevant for the last two decades. Presently, I would say it probably is Michigan if looking at the last decade or so. They've been to 2 title games, 2 E8's and 2 S16's in the last decade, which is the best in the B1G. They've also won 2 B1G tournament titles in the span only behind MSU.

It really comes down to the era you want to include. If we're doing since 2000, I'd have MSU #1, then Wisconsin, then probably OSU, then Michigan and Illinois. If we're doing the last decade, I think Michigan has the best body of work in that timeframe IMO. Historically, though, it's Indiana IMO.
