Big12 race

The Big 12 ought to have its own 12-team playoff.

Then the name would actually fit.

The only two of the four that played one of the others is Az State and BYU. So Az State won the head to head but that doesn't make them better than any of the other three. They had to go further down in the criteria. What differentiated the group to come up with Az State and ISU?
I do not know the full details, but it has something to do with common opponents and winning percentange between teams they all played. I just hope ISU can beat K-State, and however it shakes out is fine by me.

The only outcome that would shock me in the BigXII is if all the favorites won.
I'm not technological enough to get it on here so I'll write it out. Daughter sent it to me. This is what is going around the Big 12 after last Saturday.

Power Conferences title game situations.

think the two hottest teams in the big 12 right now is Kansas and WV

Figured it was something like that.
Az State vs BYU was the only head to head. Thank you frickin' big conferences.
Kansas, K-State, Utah and UCF played all four.
Of the 8 losses among the four, Kansas is responsible for 3 of them! They're probably the best team!

Arizona State - Beat BYU, Did not play Colorado or Iowa State
BYU - Lost to Az State, Did not play Colorado or Iowa State
Colorado - Did not play Az State, BYU or Iowa State
Iowa State - Did not play Az State, BYU or Colorado

Here's how the rest of the league faired against the four. BYU's 2nd loss was to Az State. Losses by the four in bold.

Arizona - BYU, Colorado, Az State
Baylor - Colorado, BYU, Iowa State
Cincy - Az State, Colorado, Iowa State
Houston - Iowa State, BYU
Kansas - Az State, Iowa State, BYU, Colorado
K-State - BYU, Colorado, Az State, Iowa State
Oklahoma State - BYU, Az State, Colorado
TCU - None
Texas Tech - Az State, Iowa State, Colorado
UCF - Colorado, Iowa State, BYU, Az State
Utah - Az State, BYU, Colorado, Iowa State
West Virginia - Iowa State

Yep. I'd go Kansas, Baylor, then West Virginia. Baylor's been playing well lately winning five in a row. One of which was West Virginia. Baylor's brain fart at the end of the Colorado game has only been topped this year by the Chicago Bears brain fart against Washington. They also didn't finish the BYU game very well.

Of the four two loss teams, right now I'd go Az State, Iowa State, Colorado then BYU. Mormons seem to have shot their wad against Utah winning the Holy War!

Texas Tech is bipolar. Beat both Az State and Iowa State, then..................

TCU didn't play any of the four leaders and still couldn't get to one of the top four.

Baylor have won 5 straight, and face Kansas to finish out. That looked like a horrible game 5 weeks ago, now it looks like gangbusters

SEC was at its peak before A&M and Missouri came

Mega conferences are stupid, will lead to the death of college football and have no redeeming qualities for fans
It's definitely making things confusing with the tie breakers. But on the other side, it leaves several teams with sterling records because they're not playing all the tougher teams in their league. I think the committee might prefer that, so they can hype up matches between 11-1, 12-1, 11-2, 13-0 teams once they get to the quarters and semis.

B12 has been a lot of fun this year

I dont get the complaints
It really has, there are no gimmes, any team can win any game, except for Okie Jr... There have been some great finishes and lots of surprises. I am really glad they got the Arizona schools and BYU/Utah. Colorado, fine, but there were here before.

Feel bad for Cincy, WVU, UCF and Houston, maybe they're feeling a bit upstaged by the newcomers, but this league is so wide open, a couple of good classes and some transfers, and they can all be fighting for the championship

I do miss divisions, I knew I would though, never liked the idea of this many teams without em.
Still think we should go with 4-team pods. It's a way to preserve annual rivalry games and ensure that everyone plays every other team in the league within 2-3 seasons.
