Biggest surprises 2022 reg season

LSU winning the west.
aTm not making a bowl.
South Carolina hammering UT and beating Clemson.
Caleb Williams winning the Heisman.

I was expecting a nice bounce back year for UW, but 10 wins and likely top 10 going into bowl season is a very nice little exceeding of expectations.

Kansas going 6-6

Surprise Success -- USC (honorary mention Tenn)
Surprise Failure -- Oklahoma and maybe Alabama

Pretty sure my over rated/underrated picks were USC overrated... massive fail... Underrated Washington... great success.

Probably the one-year turnarounds, especially Tulane.

Going from worst to first in the nation’s best G5 conf, being the only 10-win team in the conf, and earning a CCG berth in one season is pretty surprising.

TCU: 5-7, now 12-0
Troy: 5-7, now 10-2
Washington: 4-8, now 10-2

In the last 3 seasons, Duke went a combined 10-25. They went 8-4 with a 1st year HC.

Texas also went 8-4 with basically every loss coming down to the wire. That wasn’t expected.

Re: Texas

I heard they were back a lot during the preseason.

Texas A&Ms tank job for me. I didn't expect them to win the national title, but I thought they'd win at least 10 games. And finish in the top 10. Really no excuse going 5-7 with all of that talent.

Man, it has to be TCU going undefeated and headed to BIG XII champs game. Possible CFP finalist.
Notre Dame losing to Marshall and Stanford.
West Virginia beating Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the same season.
Texas A&M shitting the bed the entire season only to ruin LSU's "possible" chance at the CFP.
Virginia Tech finishing dead last in a lot of polls ranking 1-131.

OU & OKST both finishing the same reg season with 7 wins or less was unexpected.

That hasn’t happened since 2005, then 1999 before that.

Utah St (6-6) & NMSU (5-6) both finished with a better record than TX A&M (5-7).

For me, Wisconsin and Oklahoma ending with the same record, 6-6

How about Chryst being fired midseason...that was a surprise to me
