Nix played about as well as anyone would have expected. I guess you can fault him for lowering his shoulder and getting hurt.

Just pointing out they had the ball last with a chance to at least put them in FG range to tie and against a putrid defense they did not deliver on that last drive.Nix played about as well as anyone would have expected. You can split hairs all you want. Sure, Lanning didn't call the TO when Nix wanted back in before that ill-fated 4th down play. Questionable play call on that 4th down going for a run up the middle with a backup QB and no threat it would be a pass play. I'm sure you can come up with many more.

USC is the only team with a shot and we don't have a playoff caliber defense.
For this year, I'd be happy if we finish in the top 10 and get a Rose Bowl or other NY6 bowl bid.

If there had been a few minutes on the clock, I would agree with you. But expecting them to move the ball 50 yards in 45 seconds is a reach. Players can play really well, even if their team loses. I didn't realize that was a controversial statement lol
