BREAKING: Saban Retiring

Not mass, but even a small handful matter.

This would be amazing simply for OD (and all the OD-like duck fans) I've seen thumping their chest about how big of a win it was to have him on there.

For real though, I don't want oregon to lose Lanning. He'll clearly win a lot of games at oregon AND he can't beat DeBoer. It's the perfect rivalry set up for us.
The meltdown would be EPIC

Followed by how much (new coach) will be better

he has nothing to do with what they are trying to prevent.. word was Ryan was going to flip to Auburn anyways. They are more concerned with keeping the current team as it stands today

I want to see Harbaugh go to Bama. I'd love to see what he could do with the type of recruits he could get at Alabama. Michigan is never going to be able to recruit like they can at Bama.

Yeah his "commitment" to Bama has been in question amongst Bama fans even before Saban's retirement. Saban retiring probably just gave him an easier out. Bama has bigger issues to deal with first

Yeah -- But losing a 5 star guy to teams like Bama, Georgia, Ohio State means very little compared to every other school.

If Michigan loses a 5 star recruit like that, it is a huge deal. I believe the article said before we played Bama -- they had 20 five star recruits on their roster this year.

Bama signed 9 five star recruits in 2023 alone. Losing one doesn't mean much to them. To put it in perspective -- Michigan recruits really well -- we have signed 6 five star recruits in 8 years under Harbaugh, so 3 less than Bama signed last year.

Talking to Bama fans the top 3 candidates in order appears to be:

1. Lanning (Like the pedigree and could be an easy transition)
2. Kiffin (More love than you might think)
3. Dabo (Not as much love as you might think)

So, hope that rumors of Harbs leaving aren't true.

I think Harbaugh is going to the NFL. I think that is where his heart is. He wants to win a SB like his brother John has done.

Selfishly I want him to stay. We offered him a 10 year $125 million contract. So we have done everything we can. I can't be mad though -- he won us a national title, brought up back to being a top program. The NFL is the top of the coaching profession -- so hard to be upset at a guy wanting to go back.

Teams will be lining up for him too. He won 70% of his games as a NFL HC in his 4 years. Won 3 division titles, got to two conference championships and to the SB one year. The guy is a weird man, but he can flat out coach.
