He left them better then he found them, sure, but he was (and is) not good enough to get to championship level. Some people are about to find that out

Yes. We’ll see if he’ll dumb luck his way into a title. Despite the cheesy videos, his biggest problem at ND was he was a lazy recruiter. And it took him a really long time to get good at the job there. I doubt LSU fans will be as patient.

You can be a lazy recruiter and still lock up a bunch of talent at LSU. Really, LSU is the only program that has such a natural recruiting advantage thanks to location and lack of in state competition. Them and UGA can sleep walk and land top 10 classes
