I see no reason why he wouldn’t accept if offered. He flew down there yesterday to interview in person after a zoom call previously.

I don’t know why you’d go through that trouble just to say “no”. And you don’t burn that kind of bridge.

And it’s not about the money because ND has already said they’d match whatever offer bama makes. Judging by Saban’s coaching tree Rees’s ultimate goal is to be a HC this is the fast track.

Pruitt is going to be an analyst at the very least. I have no idea who the DC will be burnt least it won’t be Grantham

He’s young and eager but raw. He’s had a lot of head scratching moments but I think he’ll adapt and learn. He’ll have to because Saban doesn’t suffer fools.

Had he stayed in a couple of years could have had things humming.

He was in line to get an experienced, good college QB to run his offense too. Losing Mayer but still would have thought he could have had NDs offense looking pretty good

Yeah. And Hartman might be pretty pissed especially since his OC at Wake is one of the names being floated as a replacement.

ND signaled money is no object because they let it slip they’d match any financial offer Bama made to Rees. I think they leaked that not because they expected Rees to stay if matched but letting the market of OC candidates know they’re gonna get paid. So the opportunity to make a home run hire is there. Might be a make or break decision for Freeman in year 2.
 
I’m OK with Rees the more I look into it. He is gonna bring some of his power football stuff that we miss as Bama fans and Marry them with the stuff Saban will make him learn from what Sark/Kiffin established. Also he is an upgrade over BOB

I think DC is gonna be Kevin Steele as a Bridge to Pruitt who will be an analyst. I’m ok with this. He has already been a DC here under Saban and honestly anyone who is breathing is better than Pete Golding

Great call. IMHO he is a bridge DC but not necessarily just for Pruitt. Saban has a few young studs at position coaches and one of them may be the next DC.

I hope it is Pruitt and sooner rather than later because the guy is a turd bucket. He literally was just the DC for 2 years replacing Kirby who had the defense running like a suing machine. At FSU he made bold claims about knowing exactly how to stop Auburn's offense in the Rose Bowl and the only thing that stopped Auburn from scoring was the clock.

I've known this guy since he coached at Hoover High School and I wouldn't cross the street to pee on him if he was on fire. I told everybody when he took the Tennessee job that was a horrible hire and guess what he burned that program and proved he couldn't get players unless he gave out paper bags full of money. We are talking about a guy that fired his D-Line coach in the middle of game.

Steele is the real deal but Pruitt is a schmuck so I hope he gets the job.
