Bundesliga 2020/2021 Ongoing Thread

I thought I was done with German soccer but a couple Pokal games today on ESPN3. Leipzig in early game and Dortmund in the second game. A double header while I work from home. Boring 945 meeting coming up and Leipzig / Augsburg will help me get through it.
 
Jadon Sancho has 0 goals in the Bundesliga this season. He had 17 last year. Talking about underachieving. And we think Sane is bad.
 
Just saw the Bender twins are retiring. Good enough for Bundesliga but never could successfully jump to the National Team.

Solid players. Maybe they will go out on top come the end of this BuLi season if Leverkusen keeps playing the way they have been, last match aside.

On another note, Wolfsburg is looking pretty good still.
 
Yes Wolfsburg looks good. Man U sniffing around for Weghorst who is having a great season. One of the Benders was on those successful Dortmund teams with Klopp in the early decade. Won the Pokal with them and the Bundesliga. I still think an injured and aging Bender is better than a healthy Tah at Leverkusen.
 
Leverkusen drops all 3 points today to Frankfurt. Union wins again. Very possible to see a Union and Wolfsburg (ChiSoxFan said first) in Top 4. Definitely Top 6.
 
If Leipzig had a real striker they would be perfect team. One thing that may them back. What a save by Kobel on the Forsberg penalty. One of the best saves of the year.
 
No Coman today. Still injured. Sane and Gnabry starting. Time is now for those two to get moving and start scoring. Lewandowski with 17 goals at this point is not a balanced team.

Wow. Same old crap. It is mindboggling how bad this defense is and how bad Sane, Gnabry, Davies, Pavard, Tolisso are. Really soft.

Wow. Kimmich at right back miles better than Pavard. I have a hard time believing Pavard and Boateng can start again.

Bayern made a huge mistake going cheap on Dest. Could have had him. Now right back is a shambles. Kimmich can't play right back and midfield. Too much to ask, but was a trooper today as usual. Why the signing of Pavard in the first place? Yeah he had that epic goal for France. but also contributed to Stuttgart being relegated 2 years ago. He is useless going forward and not great defensively either now. Sane was way more productive in 2nd half with Kimmich at right back. A world of difference. Tolisso another useless player. Shanked two sitters and had numerous passes to no one. Goreztka comes on and game completely changes. Hansi got this one right in the 2nd half.
 
Another Bayern shit show today. 9 straight games behind in Bundesliga. This time blow 2-0. Defense horrendous. Sule and Pavard horrid. High line does not work anymore. Teams have figured out Hansi tactics. Only escaped previously because of talent. Not this time. Also, why not Musiala over Costa? Costa worthless garbage. Probably the best player was Sane even though he didn't score, although his turnover partially responsible for first goal. As it is, rest of Europe must be drooling to go against this defense in UCL. Right now just make Top 4. Could be Leipzig year here.

Sane looked electric in this match. That was the positive I took away from it. That is at least progress. Coman was brought on too late. Defense is garbage.
 
Dortmund helping Bayern out today. Go figure. Haaland is really good. Even Sancho is looking good again. Reus with some slick passing.

That second Haaland goal a thing of beauty. He sliced through all of Leipzig first before the header. Besides Haaland, Sancho looked good again today, I thought Can was very good too after Witsel injury. Defense was solid too.

Team victory for them for sure. They needed it badly. Bayern can thank them too.
