Back to the Balon D' Or. Kante, De Bruyne, Mbappe rated ahead of Lewey. All their teams underachieved. Lewey team sucked and he got 3 goals, plus the other nearly 50 he scored. Kante's Chelsea gaffed in FA Cup and Euros, but won UCL, but also backed into Top 4 next year. Mbappe, underachieved in Euros and Ligue 1. De Bruyne, Belgium once again underachieves, blew the final in UCL, did win premier League. Lewey, won Bundesliga, was injured Bayern gaffed UCL, scored 3 goals for happless Poland, still more than DeBruyne and Mbappe here. His only fault was the Pokal loss. I still think he should win as I think he was better this year and he got ripped off last year. Those other guys had their chance in Euros, and lack of Euro competition denied him the trophy last year, so this year it should affect those other players with loaded teams that completely and utterly gaffed in Euros. Seriously.

If Lewandowski doesn't win it (he should), I'd rather KDB win it than Mbappe. The more you hear about Mbappe, the more he seems like a dbag. Attitude doesn't, however, matter when it comes to voting, nor should it I guess. RL's output considering being injured for a spell, makes it all the more impressive. In a sense, it's unfortunate RL has to play for Poland in major tournaments like this year's (Euro 2020 lol), EM. He won't have more games to score considering Poland can't provide him service.

I wonder, considering the gold ball wasn't awarded last year, if RL gets some hangover support from that considering he was the odds on favorite to win it last year. I'll say this. If Lewandowski was French, the gold ball probably was awarded last year.

Lewey deserves it IMO, if not him, I'd rather see Kante or KDB, Mbappe seems like a douche and I've never liked his attitude. I'm just glad they are doing their usual and trying in any way possible to give it to Ronaldo or Messi, although both are among the best ever, personally I'll be glad when both retire.

Pretty spot on. I'm surprised Modric won it the other year.

Messi will probably get it after beating up on little sisters of the poor teams in Copa America.

I hope so, but I heard he may be going to Spurs. Dortmund is losing Sancho. That won't make Haaland happy.

Messi has a real shot. 38 goals for club, 5 for country. Lewandowski 48 goals for club, 6 for country. Kante is rated number 1, but has 0 goals for club and country. Maybe if he scored a few here or there, Chelsea woudn't have finished 4th in EPL and won FA Cup. Mbappe actually scored 42 goals for club, but only 1 for country. Nice haul for PSG though.
 
Training camp opened today already. These guys get no rest. Bayern has first pre-season game 7/17. I think there are 4 games in pre-season including an Ajax and Napoli I believe.

RL got 'extended' break to 7/26 lol.

I guess in a sense, Bayern is lucky Poland didn't make it out of their group.
 
Look where Leipzig is? If they replace the two losses on defense, it could be their year. Bayern acting like Schalke in Transfer market. Same with Dortmund but Dortmund roster still loaded. I heard Bona Sarr was horrendous yesterday in first pre-season game. Just dump the guy.

Bayern are crying poor right now. They may botch the extensions of Goretzka and Kimmich the way they’re going. If they gave Sané oodles of money, they have to expect players better than Sané will ask for Sané money.

That is the problem...the Sane contract. Bayern at this point may finish second to Leipzig this year. Leipzig lost a couple players, but hauled in some good ones...and money not an issue there. Watch Nagelsmann finish second to his old club. Lewandowski could leave after this season, and Goretzka and Kimmich and Coman soon after after they lost Alaba and Thiago. They could be a middle of the road club here soon. They need huge seasons out of Sane and Gnabry this year the alleviate some of the roster worries.
