Bundesliga 2024/2025

Let's discuss the schedule. 7 games left. 3 at home, 4 on the road. 5 and 2 gets the job done.

At Augsburg on Friday. Tricky. Could be a loss. This is a big game. Road trips to Augsburg bad. A win here, then I think in good shape. Inter will be on their mind so I say loss.
At home Dortmund. That is a win. They won't park the bus and Kovac coaches Dortmund.
At Heidenheim. I think it is win. Could be a park the bus game.
At home Mainz. Tough one. Mainz in 3rd. Already lost at Mainz with no offense. Hopefully can figure it out at home. A tie.
At Leipzig. Leipzig fallen off a cliff. Won't park bus. But on the road. Another tie.
At home Gladbach. Win. Gladbach not the bogie team anymone. Bochum is. Win.
At Hoffenheim. Hoffenheim really bad this year. Win.

So I see 4 wins 1 loss 2 ties. 14 points.

Leverkusen schedule easier:

At Bielefeld. Win
At Heidenheim. Win. What a great schedule so far?
Home versus Union. Lucky this one at home. Else I might say a tie. A win again. Wirtz back on this date.
At St Pauli. Could be tricky. With Wirtz back still might be a tie with that St Pauli defense. Another win.
Home versus Augsburg. Win. On the road might be different.
At Freiburg. This where the schedule finally gets tough. Think a tie.
Home versus Dortmund. Just for once can Dortmund step up? Please. Lucky this not on the road.
At Mainz. This one could be tough. Season could be over by this time, but what if not? I say a tie.

So I see 5 wins 0 losses and 2 ties. 17 points.

Ulreich extending soon I read.
Has not played a minute this season. Took the leave of absence. Got a red card from the bench. Goaltenders at Bayern a soap opera.

What the bleeping???????? I realized when I posted schedules a few days later that Armenia not in Bundesliga anymore. I am totally sick for a week and the mind not working. Would love to see Armenia win this. An all timer,

Love to see it. There's video online of Leverkusen fans and Xhaka screaming at one another after the match too. Implosion.

Not all German, but some great Cup games on today

Barcelona scraped by. What do you know? Barcelona versus Real Madrid in final lol. I did not have Armenia Bielefeld versus Stuttgart in German Cup final in my bingo card. Last year Leverkusen versus Kaiserslautern or Saarbruken in final. Nothing easy in Germany these days. Hoeness at Stuttgart needs a bigger gig. Dude can coach.

Xhaka has always been on the edge of the looney bin. Remember the great times at Arsenal he and Arteta had.

He must not have trusted in Arteta's 25 year plan to win a trophy. Trust the process!

Sirius babbling ad nauseam this morning on De Bruyne leaving Man City how he greatest man city player of all blah blah blah. They went to the grocery store and bought him.

Thomas Müller about to leave Bayern and zip. I would argue Thomas Müller leaving far bigger story than De Bruyne. Muller no grocery store purchase. A Bayern Academy lifer since age 7. Look at his numbers for Bayern and Germany. An all timer and like De Bruyne he made everyone around him better with his passing. Two time treble winner, number 1 in Bayern games played, number 1 in assists in bundesliga, golden boot AND silver boot winner in world cups and of course World Cup winner. Put those numbers up against De Bruyne.

I dunno about you but I'd say his best years were at Wolfsburg. I told that to an EPL fan this morning and he melted down lol.

I blame NBC for this EPL elitism the world is suffering though, similar to WGN creating Cubs fans around the country.

They're not solely to blame, in the US absolutely, but worldwide, I'd blame Sky more. I'll give the EPL one thing, it definitely does excel at marketing compared to the other top European leagues.

I actually had and argument with someone who claimed the EPL was the most exciting league in the world.
I countered with A) they've obviously not watched the Bundesliga, and B) it's not even the most exciting league in England (the Championship and League One are much more exciting to watch)

I am naturally biased and a massive Bundesliga homer like @MrFlyingV, but the EPL has more money flowing in and that certainly allows even the lower table clubs to have more depth.

Having lived in England for about 5 years (03-08), even before the money tsunami started, the Championship matches were better and had better atmosphere top to bottom than the PL, IMO it still does.

I still believe league wide the Bundesliga is more exciting to watch and has better atmosphere the the EPL. I've been to a Stuttgart match and the atmosphere there was better than any of the EPL stadiums I've been too, which is about 7 or 8.

I would have a VfB logo under my name as well but @HammerDown didn't put one to choose from. :)

They are damn good now too and heading to the Pokal final, where barring disaster, they should win.
