Several posters. Muleshoe flew the coop. Our recruiting is decimated. Caleb Williams has rabbit in his blood. Brent Venables and his staff are a heaving crap shoot. OU is either too poor or too stupid or too proud to play Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?. We've lost our mojo and even Jr. is kicking sand in our face. Texas is getting ready to eat our lunch with their talent and coaching staff. Pick your reason. I've heard it all. I just want some of these doomsayers to make a prediction of OU vs USC over the next couple of years while Oklahoma is in dire straits.

Nope. I'm summarizing the comments that are all over these threads since the end of the regular season. Hundreds of them. Don't deflect. Go ahead......make some predictions. I actually think most of the people who are taking a perverse pleasure in OU's travails to keep everything from falling apart are full of crap. If not, then let them tell me how bad it's gonna be over the next couple of years compared to USC's record.

No way of knowing. LR didn't inherit at USC what he did from Stoops.
Venables is a 1st time HC.

I do figure this.... Of the teams that made new hires this season (Oregon, Oklahoma, USC, LSU, Florida, Notre Dame) there are a couple of fan bases that will be disappointed.

ND in the best spot, IMO. Stayed in house and were able to keep chemistry and recruits for the most part. Not looking like wholesale changes.

I'd go with LSU.
BK had to make some major staff adjustments at ND and it worked out pretty well for him. He's been there done that.

Dude has never been a head coach. Was a 1st year DC at ND.

He may end up being better than Saban, but he is the biggest risk out of the group hired this year.

No doubt. He dropped a nuke on OU. The craziest part is the pied piper effect where all the recruits followed suit and left with him.

That was some serious talent that OU had coming in that has chosen to go elsewhere. not to mention all the current members that have left or are current looking elsewhere. i heard Mario Williams is going to follow wherever Caleb transfers to.

I completely get why OU fans want to kill Lincoln Riley. He set the program back a lot of years.

We were ok when he got here and we’ll be ok after the fact and possibly better.

Not gonna lie though, he fucked us proper.

Okies are known for being sturdy and resilient. Ain’t skeered.

I have no doubt OU will come back from this, but it will hurt them for a couple years. The transfer portal may help them with some of the holes, but the talent they have had leave is crazy. Not just in the 2022 class, but the 2023 recruits and the current players that left in the transfer portal.

And the bad part for OU is -- the guy who left them at the altar is the same guy who will shut the door on getting recruits from the state of California. With Texas schools opening the purse strings with the NIL deals -- it will make recruiting out of the state of Texas tougher too.

Will be interesting to see how things are going forward.

I'm not convinced we're going to miss a step.

We didn't win the Big XII this year...and it wasn't the inability to stop folks that caused it.

You can believe that, but you lost a TON of talent. I can't see how it wouldn't hurt the program. Will they struggle? I don't think so. But will they be competitive nationally when the majority of recruits who left were 5 star or top 100 recruits -- I'd say no.

Look at the guys you've lost. That isn't easy to replace.
