I would be shocked if he ends up at USC. I know Riley recruited him and has likely told him that he has a schollie there if he wants it. But if it was going to happen, I think it would have already.

The only thing I have heard is that if Williams comes to USC, Dart will go into the portal and that was back when USC first hired Riley. There hasnt even been any speculation about Williams that I have seen or heard and Dart hasnt entered the portal.

but you gotta admit.. if Caleb decided to go to LA, it's probably a better succession plan having Nelson waiting in the wings. He can redshirt his freshman season and get the gig as a redshirt FR.. or if Caleb struggles, we seen Riley quick to pull in the backup. I know Dart can take off to the NFL in the '24 draft just like Caleb but you would think he would have 3 years of tape first, no?

Wonder where he ends up because.. GA has Simpson and Gunnar... SC has Dart then Nelson coming in a year from now.

If Williams bolts just for NIL money then college football is officially dead and we need to rethink the whole thing. If you are going to pay them that kind of money then you should be able to lock them into a 4-year deal and they can't shop. We also just need to let these kids go onto the NFL and have one and dones like basketball.

We basically have created a miniature NFL with:
- No Salary cap
- No team rights to a player
- No oversight

If the NFL worked this way owners like Jerry Jones would lock up all the A talent and teams like Chicago and Green Bay wouldn't have any kind of shot.

come on, you aren’t that naive. Jimbo said it best “there has always been NIL stuff going on, it just wasn’t legal”. Transfer portal has opened up another door for cheating. I don’t understand why fans were OK with blatant cheating, but NIL is something they can’t stomach

My problem is you pay the kids (without limits because back in the day you couldn’t launder that kind of money) and can’t lock them in. If they take the cash then a team should have the rights to them.

If we put limits on NIL and lock then kids in then the market will equalize for the most part. If we don’t then it’s a cluster fuck.

NIL is better for that. At least you are paying for production, unlike handing out bags and hoping they don’t transfer in year 2.
