I don’t like the fact that every decision (or it seems like every decision) has been about money for a long time.
That said, the schools brought a lot of this own themselves. It was okay for them to take the huge amounts of money and use it for what some consider outrageous salaries, facilities and all sorts of bells and whistles.
But when the players said “Hey. How about us?”….. If they’d have set up a system to get some to the players when the money started getting huge, we might not be in this deep a pile of shit. jmo
Well, I tend to agree with your opinion here. I’m just saying that if a kid’s gonna take money from a university to play football, there should be responsibility there for the kid to play football. All of this sitting out for a bowl game is bullshit. You can get hurt just as easy in week one as you can in a bowl game. And while people say that the bowl game is meaningless., How about kids who really shines in a bowl game and their draft stock rises, because maybe they’re not playing UTSA in a regular season game they’re playing another top-tier team.
Some teams keep up with bowl wins, there was a time when it was an honor to be the MVP of the Sugar bowl or the Rose Bowl. I kind of miss those days.
