CFB Coach Hot Seat rankings are out

Yes, when Hugh Freeze was throwing ridiculous amounts of money at players and should have been given just short of a death penalty but because they are SEC, they got a slap on the wrist.
That's what I want my guys to do. It is the only way we are going to be able to get enough talent to win. Conventional recruiting ain't going to get it done.

Problem is, now everyone is going to be throwing money around. It’s a matter of if your boosters are willing to compete, they definitely have the means to.

Piss on NIL. I just want us to bribe 'em to come without having to do anything. We used to could entice 'em with all the trips they wanted to the whorehouses in Juarez. Now that ain't an option. A guy can get cheap steroids over there from what I understand.

It is a tough job for anyone because of limited resources and geographic isolation. He's trying to do something equivalent to pissing up a rope IMO. We shall see.
You guys did somehow manage to steal Mack Leftwich from my high school's rival after he won a bazillion state football titles though.

He's a Texas boy though isn't he? Or maybe I'm confusing him with someone else.

Nah. He was two grades younger than me at my rival high school, distinctly remember as a senior watching them have this really good young QB who had this weirdly low stance under center. Might've actually played him at one point but the age difference makes it unlikely.

Maybe he was originally originally from there but my understanding was he ended up at UTEP because Kugler's kids were his high school teammates and recruited him when he took over there.

EDIT: you're right, born in Denton then moved north.

We talkin' about the kid or the dad? Kugler was the assistant for the Steelers when his kids were in school, no?

Oh hell yeah. Lubbock boys. They are getting on up ther ein years and are more Austinites now.
Flatlanders just released a new album. Their history is an interesting read. Recorded a bunch of stuff in the early 70's and never did anything with it and they all had successful solo careers in Texas, then they released their stuff in the early 90's, and have never really been together, but have never really broke up. They just release an album and tour every now and then, but are still by and large solo artists.

Hadn't heard about a new album. But Ely got most of the play around here over the years.

Yeah, when the dad was the oline coach his kids and Leftwich were all teammates. I also didn't realize Leftwich was originally from Denton so you're right about him being a Texas boy.

I think his dad played at Sam Houston or Stephen F Austin way back in the day.

I never understood how Bob Stull got Kugler to come to El Paso from upstate New York. Talk about completely different cultures.

“I can’t look into the future,’’ James told Miller Degnan. “I think it’s a situation where Manny is our head coach and he’s getting the guys ready to play a game [Saturday].

“Manny is our head coach. Obviously this has been a disappointing season. Manny would acknowledge that. Our guys would acknowledge that. And I understand that the fans acknowledge that.”

At least he didn’t get a vote of confidence.

It’s looking like 6-6 is the ceiling this year given who they have left and what they are now. Wonder who Miami AD has in mind to replace him?

What level of coach could Miami pull? Maybe...oh idk...Jamey Chadwell?
