Ohio St #1? Committee’s justification is “quality” wins over ND (who is quite overrated and has proven it) and Penn St. also overrated.

What a joke…but not surprising as the Committee powered by ESPN loves Ohio St.

What undefeated team has better wins than OSU ? There is still plenty of time for it to change.

Bunch of crap…even you have to admit that. And omg that gif is creepy

I'm pretty sure it was expected. It can change easily with Georgia getting into the meat of their schedule and Michigan playing both Penn State and Ohio State

No one has looked like a true #1. Maybe Michigan, but they have had no tough test yet, so it’s hard to know what they are truly made of.

It shouldn’t matter, but I wonder if the sign stealing allegations influenced the committee’s decision at all.

And I couldn’t be mad if Georgia was kept#1. They are back to back champs. They have talent up and down the roster.

Ohio state #1 was a surprise, but I bet we drop as Michigan and Georgia plays some better opponents down the stretch.

It doesn't matter.

If they win out, the UGA v Bama winner will be in
If they win out, the UM v tOSU winner will be in
If they win out, the UW v UO winner will be in

The debate was between UGA, Ohio State, and Michigan. Michigan and UGA have looked better but they also haven’t played a team with a pulse so you had to put Ohio State #1.

It will all work itself out….I’ve never understood caring about the 1st ranking.

What happens in this scenario if FSU wins out, and Texas or OU wins out?

That would be the nightmare scenario, right? FSU would be undefeated, so they are in.

UO, Bama, Texas, and OU would all have losses, so one of them would be out is my guess.

UW, UGA, and the TM v. tOSU winners would be undefeated, so they would be in.

Probably FSU.
2 loss LSU? Better than 2 loss ND, and 1 loss PSU? If LSU could play D, I would agree with you.

Funny, but I think LSU gets Bama because I am not sure Bama can outscore LSU. That game will hinge on Bama's D against LSU's O.

By this stage, my completely biased attitude towards tosu should be well known.

The only reason I was surprised with tOSU was because I don't think the PSU and ND are all that good. They get credit for quality wins that I am not sure are quality wins.

That said, and as you point out, there isn't that Elite team this year that just jumps out at you. And, UGA and UM have had easy schedules so it's not like they can be overly critical of the ND and PSU wins.

I want to say the FSU and UDub have better wins, but do we really know that UO is any good?

This is the problem with 132+ teams and the fact they don't play each other. It's why the 12 team CFP is going to be great. We won't care about any of this next year ... all the teams we are talking about will get their shots.

The bozo talking heads are already wanting to put Oregon ahead of Washington even though Washington just beat Oregon a couple of weeks ago. It'll obviously work itself out in the end but its hilarious trying to see idiots like Desmond Howard justifying having Oregon ranked over a undefeated Washington team that they lost to. (Desmond of course doesn't have Ohio State in the top 4 as well)

Nothing could matter less than the first CFP rankings
