CFP Rankings Nov. 15

Looks like they brought in 1 this year (a reserve QB Hunter Johnson whos been there left and back) and 1 last year (A DE who has done squat)
Sounds like they are just like UM. We brought in one this year. The Center from Virginia. The guy is a beast. We won't take any unless they have graduated though and have a clean academic record. It sucks. There is a lot of talent in the portal, but UM won't let these kids transfer their credits in, so no one is coming to Michigan to start over.

The portal is kind of a funny thing. You really have to be careful how you use it. You don't wanna piss off current players or drive away recruits so you kind of have to pick and choose your spots when you really actually need it.

Unless you are like a Rutgers lol, then you might try swinging for the fences with a bunch of portal players. But you could potentially throw team chemistry completely out of whack by misusing the portal.

We don't have to worry about that -- we barely use it.

I think we've used it pretty effectively when we have. Fields, Trey Sermon, Noah Ruggles, Tanner McCallister.

No need to use it too much though when you are already raking in top players in recruiting every year. But sometimes you need a guy.

If only open transfers were around earlier. Tate Martell could played at 5 different schools in 5 different years.

Oh damn. I thought he already did that... Oh wait, did he "really" play?

I agree, they can be beat. I don't think a team is going to beat them playing right into their wheelhouse though.

Problem I haven't seen a team that looks complete enough to possibly do that. Pretty sure it is going to take a team that is completely healthy because Georgia can "out depth" everyone.
When healthy and clicking, I think OSU matches up with them extremely well. They have excellent DBs but we have equally as good WRs. You also have to have an opportunistic defense, which Ohio State has. In terms of depth, OSU is one of maybe 2-3 that can go up against them. Unlike Tennessee, OSU has a running game that can supplement the passing game along with a better OL. It will come down to coaching if we end up seeing this matchup, but obviously both teams have games to focus on before then.

Seems like GameDay thinks Tennessee gets over LSU even if LSU wins out.

I think that is a given at this point, they already have 2 losses. Now if they were to beat UGA by 3 scores they might slip in but unless chaos happens no way LSU is getting in

Apparently not to most in this thread.

I think if they played it would be a close game...

Oh wait. They did. Vols destroyed them on the road.

If both teams win out and LSU gets the nod, its a sham!

Extremely rare. There is very little evidence they can put it all together in one game.
DB’s look lost at times-Knowles has been great but the gameplan continues to be play off WR’s 8-10 yards. Short passes kill them.
They don’t have a running game they can depend on especially late in a game when they need it most. I’m not sure if it’s run blocking, lack of vision or whatever but injuries aren’t helping. Henderson when healthy has been disappointing.
They haven’t clicked against a very good or great team yet but that isn’t saying much bc they haven’t played too many caliber teams.
They also aren’t disclipined-tackling and penalties. The expectations are higher than this….they are undefeated but the goal is to win it all and right now, one week from the scUM game they aren’t playing close to their full potential. Hope to see it at least next week but not counting on it.

Should TCU and Michigan flip rankings?

Truth is though, Tennessee still needs to beat South Carolina and Vandy. I know it looks good to win but stranger things have happened.
Man, you called it. Did not see that coming.

From what I am gathering, defense literally quit. Some locker room drama. Makes me kind of want to quit as a fan (I won't but that is some bad stuff).

Huh

What could possibly cause them to do that

You haven't been shit since those kids were born and they have problems with how the team is ran?

Whoever started it should be removed from the team then.

Some stupid argument between Jeremy Banks and Hendon Hooker apparently. Banks is the best player and leader on the defense but is a head case. Tennessee is done. They won't beat Vanderbilt at this rate. Welcome to the minds of stupid 20 year olds.

They're unpredictably stupid sometimes

Banks should be done then

63 points to SCAR with a playoff bid on the line....yikes.
