CFP Rankings Nov. 15

As I am saying, most the media tends to not like LSU's chances even if they win out right now.

Media can be wrong on teams prediction but basically since the committee is made up of mostly people in the media or people that engage with the media, I think there is some legitimacy to the media in this instance.

I am thinking on this. I tend to agree about conference championships. There are teams that haven't even won their division that was in the BCS title game (Nebraska), haven't won their conference title that was in the BCS (Oklahoma), and the same for the playoff a couple of times I think. I know conference champs is not the be all, end all when CFP is deciding. Head to head matters. I think hearing these media outlets talk, they do mention head to head more. If this thing plays out in a very chaos manner, it is going to be FUN.

Regarding Ohio State, it is the big play potential. I think Ohio State's offense would look a lot like how Florida played us in September with Tennessee holding Ohio State to 3rd downs a lot but then Ohio State converting 3rd and long.

Tennessee's Rushing Defense (which is in top 5 in YPG) is overrated and Passing Defense is underrated when you really dig into it.

A lot of teams, totally abandoned any attempts to run the ball against Tennessee in second half due to the way the game was flowing (the one exception was Georgia, another reason I think they closed out so well against Tennessee).
You can't compare Florida's offense to Ohio State. The two offenses are nothing alike. Florida would swap their entire offense for Ohio State's. There isn't a position group where it is really close, though I can't say TE for sure, as I don't know who the TE is for Florida.
OSU has done this missing the best WR in football for all but 1 quarter this year (Jaxon Ngjiba-Smith) and have been without pre-season all-american Treyveon Henderson for multiple games at RB).

Ohio State would be the best QB/WR combo that Tennessee has faced all year. Better than Bennett and his WR's, better than Young and his WR's -- now if you add a healthy Ngjiba-Smith to what they already have -- it wouldn't really be close. OSU is about as bad of a match up as you can get for Tennessee because of the immense talent they have at WR. Florida threw 450 on Tennessee. Alabama threw for 450 on Tennessee. Georgia could have thrown for 450 if they wanted after Bennett had 230 and 2 tds at halftime, but they took the air out of the ball and ran the entire 2nd half (they did this because Tennessee couldn't score and they were up 3 scores)

OSU would pass at will on Tennessee. What I'd like to see is if OSU could stop Tennessee. If they couldn't -- there would be like 100+ points scored in that game.

Yea we are infinite times better than Florida at throwing the ball. Richardson may have got "lucky" some against Tennessee but he is a awful passer.

TE is not strong for Florida this year. Their #1 TE has 13 catches for 177 yards and 1 TD on the season. Cade Stover for us has 29 catches for 366 yards and 5 TDs

We didn't really stop Florida in September so I don't see the difference. Florida played its best offensive game all year so basically my comments say that Ohio State on an average day is at least better than Florida on its best day.

Yeah -- I haven't followed Florida much other than Anthony Richardson. I know their best WR is the PSU castoff Justin Shorter. Had no idea who their TE is. I just know Anthony Richardson was mocked to the Detroit Lions and I will to throw my computer, because I don't want anything to do with him.

Florida and Ohio State's offenses couldn't be more different.

Florida was arguably Tennessee's worse defense performance (Alabama is up there too but I felt like Tennessee played better D against Alabama, Alabama just scored more).

What I'm saying is -- nothing about the two offenses are comparable. The fact Anthony Richardson threw for 450 on Tennessee should tell you everything you need to know about Tennessee's pass defense. He has 7 games he didn't throw for 200 yards this year. The most he has thrown for in a game other than against Tennessee is 270 yards.

Ohio State is the absolute worst matchup for your defense with the skill position players they have. There are NFL teams who wish they had OSU's WR room.

Ngjiba-Smith will be a 1st round NFL pick
Harrison Jr. will be a 1st round NFL pick
Egbuka isn't draft eligible, but he will be a 1st round NFL pick in the following year
Julian Fleming is a 5 star #5 ranked player nationally who is their FOURTH STRING WR.

OSU is WR U in the last 5 years.

You clearly didn't read my original post saying that Tennessee would give up big plays to Ohio State like Florida.

However you never know. B1G is year in and year out the most overrated college football conference. Tennessee could flash its SEC logo to Ohio State and they could roll up in the fetal position and lose by 3 TDs. Ohio State is like 2-30 against SEC over the last 30 years.

I mean Michigan was supposed to beat Georgia last year as well. How did that go?

Yea they keep mocking Richardson AND Levis in the first round for some reason. I don't get it. They both suck.

SOS REALLY depends on who you ask.

According to Sagarin

Georgia 34
Ohio State 46
Michigan 71
TCU 23
Tennessee 30
USC 52
Clemson 54
North Carolina 60

I believe that graphic you posted is ESPNs spin on SOS. Which is historically comically favorable to the SEC.

If you were Georgia or Bama -- flashing the SEC logo may work. You aren't though. You are 3-23 against Georgia and Bama since 2010. So your SEC badge doesn't hold as much fear as their badge does :)

That being said -- Michigan was the underdog to Georgia, so no, they weren't supposed to beat them. Hell -- I already said on here exactly what Georgia is: "Georgia plays like Michigan, but on steroids". And no, not literally on steroids, but they use the same type of style, but they have access to much better recruits.

Levis was the other guy they had mocked to Detroit. If we draft either of those guys -- I'm becoming a Browns fan.

Richardson had 2-3 games he played well in and that is it.

I am not sure about Levis as I really haven't seen him play a stellar game.

Georgia eeked out a win vs Missouri. Needed two 4th quarter TDs to win.

what do you think would happen if Ohio State played Georgia right now?

This is stupid. Alabama was one of the two teams to lose to Ohio State. Ohio State had more trouble with Florida and LSU in the past. I think you literally haven't watched any football prior to 2020...

Part of the reason for the entire SEC crap with Ohio State was the 2006 and 2007 Title games against Florida and LSU. Had you watched football, you would know why those memes started.

BTW, Michigan and Ohio State have never beaten Tennessee :). Granted, I think we have only played each of you once.

The OSU from pre-Urban Meyer era NEVER recruited like they do now. They are a completely different program right now recruiting wise. They used to be a top 20 with some top 10 classes sprinkled in and the occasional top 5 class. (Essentially what Michigan is now) Now -- they are top 5 like every year. (like Bama and Georgia)

Urban built a pipeline from Florida and Texas and they've continue to get guys from those areas every year and not just any player, but 5 star recruits like the Bosa brothers, like Jeff Okudah, like Egbuka, like Ngjiba-Smith, the list goes on and on.

There isn't a program in CFB I know more about than OSU, with the exception of Michigan. So yes, I've followed football. If you had followed football, you'd know the extreme difference in recruiting for OSU the last decade plus.

I am not sure about Levis as I really haven't seen him play a stellar game.

Richardson has completed only 55% of his passes with 18 TD/13 INT his college career. Those are pretty bad stats for a college QB.

Will Levis' Stats look a lot better. 65% 43TD/24INT - But his performances against better teams are mostly lackluster, a lot of stat padding against the Miami Ohio, UL-Monroe & New Mexico State type teams he has faced.

They won as many titles Pre-Urban as now. You keep raving about Ohio State but they have done less, from a Championship aspect, than Florida or LSU since 2000.

BTW, I think Florida, LSU, and Auburn have the right to flash SEC Logo as Florida has two National Titles 2006 and 2008 and played in various NY6 bowls, LSU has three national titles 2003, 2007, and 2019 and has played in several big-time bowl games; Auburn has an undefeated season in 2004 that would have saw them in a 4-team playoff, National Title in 2010, and National Title game appearance in 2013.

You tout Georgia a lot but they still haven't accomplished as much as any of those three programs since 2000. It shows that you haven't watched football other than last 2-3 seasons. You can't say Georgia is some elite SEC power and not include those 3.

I Don't think success 15-20 years ago should be carrying "benefit of the doubt" in current times.
