GAME CFP Semifinal: #3 Georgia Vs #2 Michigan 7:30pm ET ESPN

For all the talk about a talent gap, that is true, but UGA's QB is a former walk on(He shouldn't be the QB, but he is, and what are you gonna do?), two of the top receivers on the team are 3 star freshmen and one was a no star until UGA offered him and the anchor of the defense was a 3 star afterthought and a white, walk on safety gets significant playing time. Point is, if you don't develop, all you're gonna do is waste talent

UofM's 23 point loss is the 2nd largest as an AP top 5 team in school history.

The real talent gap yesterday was Bama vs Cincy. Cincy's o-line didn't stand a chance and it looked like Bama's RB had 20 pounds on Cincy's biggest defender.

But I do appreciate the team taking control of the game right from the get go and having the win in hand by half time. Not as exciting, but a lot less nerve racking than a double overtime shootout and needing a 17 point comeback to beat Oklahoma and their Heisman winning QB.

Kind of a dick move to make me sweat the under though.

I thought the second targeting call last night was pretty 10 play. I guess by the letter of the rule, it's the right call, but WTF? Chambliss was never gonna see the field in the first half against Bama anyways, but still.

First targeting call was perfect timing if you're gonna get ejected. Game was already in hand, less than 2 minutes left in the first half and it gave Christopher Smith more time to rest his ankle. We're gonna need him to be as healthy as possible against Bama.

Those two edge rushers for Michigan were pretty well non factors.

Congrats on a good season and welcome to the club*.

*Your team got their asses kicked in the playoffs. It's not a huge club, but it's growing, and it's all thanks to you!!!

:beer2:

Thank you. Still very proud of this team. Always sad to see a Michigan season end but I'm not bitter about this one, UGA was just plain better. Michigan still has work to do to put together teams that can regularly compete with the likes of OSU/Bama/UGA, but this season's success is a start.

Your OL did a great job. While I do think our interior play has been better than recent years, Michigan's DL has been heavily dependent on their edge rushers since Hurst left for the NFL. And with a lack of pressure, our DBs/LBs got exposed.

That was a bad matchup for Michigan then. Our tackles are beasts, our guards are just decent. O-line is much more vulnerable to an interior rush.

UM making a pedestrian UGA offense look like 2019 LSU.

39 points per game. I feel our offense is underrated TBH. Had that one bad game against Clemson where pretty well the entire WR room was out.

Why were Michigan and Cincy in the playoffs?

It was a very good win ... it kinda showed that the Alabama loss was not the Real Georgia Team. Good Fortunes!!

How? There's an element of coaching that goes into it.

Game planning, scheming, watching game film on your opponent.

It's not all about lining humanoids up. You got to get your players lined up right and execute the game plan.

People (and teams) have good days and bad days. Example: ohio state vs Michigan this year. ohio state was having a bad day while Michigan had a good day. I think ohio state is a better team than Michigan, but they lost. The best team does not always win. I think this year Georgia was the best team, but a second loss to Alabama would change my mind.

Why were Michigan and Cincy in the playoffs?

UofM deserved to be there because they took care of business and won the conference. They had a damn good year.

And Cincy ended up in the CFP because Okie State came up one yard short in the Big XII title game. Had the Cowboys won they would have gotten in over the Bearcats.

The playoffs proved neither of these teams were worthy of being there.

I disagree that Ohio State was better than UofM this season. JH's crew were the better, more experienced and hungrier team. They outplayed the Buckeyes from start to finish.
