Champions League 2022/2023

Just saying:

This is the second time that PSG have been knocked out by Bayern from goals by their exes. Imagine buying the most expensive attack in football and then getting kicked out of the Champions League by players who left you for free.
Just a few years ago Choupo was relegated with Stoke. Quite a ride he’s had since.

That was disappointing. They look worse when Conte coaching, than when Conte in hospital. Spurs other issue is other teams have a game or games in hand. Pretty much Harry Kane has to carry them.

Strong rumors Conte is just seeing his contract out and Spurs are more than happy to let him walk at the end of the season. What a disappointing end to a project that seemed so full of potential in the summer.

He's never been happy in England, even at Chelsea he hated it. I think he only took Spurs for the paycheck as at the time none of the top Serie A teams needed a manager. Not sure any of them will after this season either.

Napoli - Very happy with Spaletti
Inter - happy with Inzaghi
Milan - Happy with Pioli
Roma - Seem happy with Mourinho and vice versa
Lazio - Doing well under Sarri

The only possibilities are maybe back to Juve, or a team like Fiorentina that may want to upgrade but I doubt it since
Conte's M.O. seems to be that he wants a bottomless wallet to spend in the transfer market.

He needs to be in a contender side to be happy as a manager. Maybe he just takes a year off, he did have some serious personal trauma this season (lost 3 close friends and had an illness that required gall bladder removal surgery).

Conte's biggest issue as a manager seems to be his stubbornness. He doesn't rotate much and only as a last resort will he use young players or club signings. His sides pretty regularly look like world beaters when given a full week to prepare for a match and mediocre when they have to play multiple times in a week. Unfortunately for Spurs, multiple games a week has been the story of the entire season up to this point.

A happy man?

He does love to celebrate a goal tho!
Biggest knock on Conte at Spurs has been how he pretty consistently treated the club as something beneath him. Basically like he was doing the club a favor by taking the job. Maybe that's true in some respects, but it's also pretty toxic and a recipe for a short tenure. Fans will gloss over slights against the club if you're getting results...once those results dry up, however...

Very likely Spurs will have to make a managerial decision in the summer. Could revert back to the old guard and try to bring back Poch. The 2nd time around never captures the same magic tho. My preference would be to go for a young attacking manager and a long term rebuild project. That means saying goodbye to Kane and Son tho and some serious growing pains without Kane to bail them out every weekend.

The rats are coming out now. You see Richarlison bitching about Conte and playing time today? Him of only 2 goals in 25 appearances. He should be bitching at the guy in the mirror.

True. That's why I said maybe Juve. After thinking about it, Fiorentina wouldn't be a good fit either. They are slowly getting back to their glory, and will have a new stadium in a few years, but I think there would be a MAJOR clash of wills/personalities with owner Rocco Cossimo. Cossimo is Italian born but raised in the US since he was 12 (in The Bronx), he's very blunt and no nonsense.

He can barely manage English, imagine him trying to speak German in an interview. 🤣
meh, theyre both western germanic languages so he can manage

How about Newcastle? They are sliding backwards with Howe and could be backed by big MBS money in the summer..the kind of spending that could make Conte think about it. Although if no UCL this year, he'd probably pass.

I think that would be the same as Spurs, just for the money. He's said he hates living in England, and he's in London, imagine him Tyneside..lol

I suppose PSG is a possibility. But I think @Tharvot is right, I think he takes a year off at least.

Thats a potential destination. They have all the money in the world, so buying the players Conte wants wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, his output hasn't been as good as hoped for this season. On the flipside, Son has been absolutely terrible but for some reason keeps getting starts when he should be benched in favor of Richarlison. In out best recent league performances, it was Richarlison starting on the left and actually doing well despite not scoring. Then Son coming in off the bench enjoying running with fresh legs against a winded defensive unit.

No Nkunku for Leipzig today. That sucks.

That was a handball? Didn’t look like it changed direction at all🤔
