Movie Clerks 3 (2022)

I can't give a fuck. Looks contrived, and predictable. Probably a few good jokes, likely mostly dogshit, won't watch until it happens to find its way to me with no other option.

Fuck everything else, including Jay snd Silent Bob.

Smith hasn’t done anything worth watching since, what, Dogma? If this makes it to a streamer, I might give it my 90 mins, but I won’t go to the theater for it.

Clerks 2 was fine. Watched the shit out of it when it came out.

This movie is 100% the first two movies, by design.

It's like he took the criticism of "Reboot" (aka it's the same fucking movie...) and added 10 minutes of a diverting storyline to try and sell it as this profound thing. The reviews are mixed because the pseudo-intellectuals will try and tell you those 10 minutes were earth shattering cinema.

You are whacked. The first one makes short-lists for top 20 lists and whatnot (off the top of my head, I think it is a safe bet for top 20 comedy all time). The second one has been getting a lot of love here the last few months, but I never really got into it. I intend on giving another watch one of these months.

He's done some good stuff, just hit or miss. Some of the stuff not in the style of 90s Kevin Smith is pretty good, but doesn't get the same attention as his forcing of played out 90s characters.

I totally forget about this thing. I keep a half-eye on the top 10 gates each week and I don’t remember seeing this on that list. Not a good sign.
 
Sad how far this “franchise” has sunk. Clerks was AWESOME. Mall Rats was good. Chasing Amy was good. Dogma was great. Now Clerks 3 comes out and it doesn’t even cause a light breeze. As I said earlier, I will only watch it if it falls in my lap and I have absolutely nothing else to do for 90 minutes. I won’t pay for it nor do anything beyond about 4 remote-button pushes to watch it.

I mean, I sort of get what you’re saying. But to me, it’s probably the laziest fucking movie ever written.

Thought process:
- make clerks
- make clerks 2
- have heart attack

…

- make clerks 3 about making a movie about clerks 1/2 after having a heart attack. Be sure to make 75% of the content bits/jokes completely unchanged.

Like there’s nostalgia and there’s being too dumb and lazy to come up with anything original for 75 minutes of content. Lazy stoner fuck shit
