Coach of the Year options

which everyone back in the summer said he wouldn't beat
So then nominate him for Coach of the Year for barely beating a bad TCU team, an atrocious Nebraska and "beating" a Colorado State team that absolutely refused to win?

Wow, could the bar be any lower? :L

Hype. He's created enough hype to get several million more viewers to watch games than should have. I'd look up those numbers but I'm not technomoloigcal enough. And we'll see if that viewership number holds against the likes of ASU, Zona, Stanford, etc.
Okay, so then we're going to redefine what Coach of the Year means? It's not really about coaching.

Not sure who picked CSU over Colorado at any point. TCU obviously blows, as does Nebraska. Also people are acting like he's coaching the same Colorado team as last year when in reality it's an entirely remade roster with former 4/5* guys that have been the most talented team on the field outside of Oregon and USC.
lol you can twist how you want it now.. but they were getting clowned.. Now that he has won 3 games, it was to be expected...

I wish it was all about coaching. Seems now it is more about the recruiting aspect of coaching than anything. Has been for quite some time.

They haven't had a season with over 5 wins since 2016.. attendance was shit, nobody cared about CU football.. Everyone said you could not flip a roster the way he did and be competitive year 1

he's only lost one game (brutally) to a really good football team and got another game vs a higher ranked school at home within a one-score possession game.

Everyone now loves or hates him.. Call TCU garbage all you want, they are, but their only loss is to CU. People were praising Rhule for coming back to CFB and taking on Nebraska.. all while Deion was getting ridiculed..

Media shitted and now have praised him and people are upset cause he's getting more air time despite coaching a bad team? ok

he isn't your coach of the year and that's ok..

it's about everything but it's going to go to a coach who lived up to most expectations or came out of nowhere and has his team in the CFP

I never said it was to be expected, it's just not surprising given how the season has unfolded.

Overall, I agree with you but probably for different and more cynical reasons.

I don't think ANY of the "non brand" schools are EVER going to be able to stack the high quality depth through recruitment/development that is needed to consistently get through a season. (Unless, they are able to parlay a good NIL program that helps them do that. It could be a great equalizer but it is too early to tell.) They just have to hope they can avoid the injury bug for a season or at least dodge it at positions that are lean in quality depth.

And his lack of humility may be the reason I mentioned about being too direct. No doubt he's got a huge ego but so do most other coaches. And a lot of that year long recruiting is done by assistants isn't it?
Yes and no ... UGA has a huge staff that does the dirty work. But the coaches are on the road all the time. The week after UGA won the NC all 10 coaches hit the road to cover 100 high schools in Georgia ... over a 2-3 day period, each coach that can recruit off campus - 10 - went to the top 10 high schools to meet with the coaching staff. Smart and others are at games every Friday night in the Fall. Because they are the only ones allowed to recruit off campus they are on the road all the time.

Deion or Sark and then everyone else.

lel. Deion beat three bad teams and now is getting his shit pushed in. Will he be the coach of the year when CU doesn't even get bowl eligible, then he claims it is racist because a 5 win team wasn't invited to a bowl?

Incorrect. I said from day 1 TCU was going to be bad this year. And I bet, literally, that CU would beat TCU to put my money where my mouth is. Nebraska isn't anything difficult, and CSU isn't either. The first time he ran into a program worth a darn they folded and continued to fold. They have maybe 2 winnable games remaining this year so they better surprise someone or they are ending with 5 wins

I could potentially see 3 wins on their remaining schedule between Arizona, ASU, Stanford and UCLA.

There is certainly a path there to 6 or maybe 7 wins. But I also think the fake outrage they have been running on with this "I have receipts" nonsense can't carry them all season.

With the amount of talent Colorado has, they should win all four.
I don’t know about that. I see them beating both ASU and Stanford and splitting Arizona and UCLA. They could win all four, but I doubt it.

Coaches who do more with less are the best ones imo!
