Colin Cowherd take on Oklahoma

Are you sure Oklahoma would have won those 12th games?

What about the ties? Are you sure Oklahoma would have won those if there was OT back then?
Keep grasping at straws. If you want to play the "what if" game -- how bad would Nebraska be if they actually played in a good division of a P5 conference, instead of the B1G West? Nebraska has been this bad while playing in one of the bottom 3 divisions in CFB.

In the end -- you simply can't compare win totals for teams when they are playing different amounts of games each year. But if it makes you feel better -- go ahead and do it.

That you have WhoPhoneDis (a.k.a. TrustMeIAMWrong) nit-picking/cherry picking with you makes it all the more laughable.
Nit picking? You are comparing win totals for one team who played an 11 game schedule and one team who is playing a 12 game schedule. :wtf:

I wouldn't expect much improvement from Nebraska this year. Rhule's first seasons at Temple and Baylor were bad.
There we have it -- Red Alert first of many excuses for Nebraska football. The real question is -- who is the next coach you want after Rhule is fired?

Do the Sooners play in Lincoln, Oklahoma?
“Three losing seasons in a row was a long time ago in Lincoln”.

Your streak is six seasons of losing football in Lincoln. And counting. Three losing seasons in a row was a long time ago. Cuz you’re at six now.

No it's not. They both had horrible 8 year stretches. Cherry picking them is pointless.

I know Nebby is down but Temple and Baylor were worse when Rhule took over. There may not have been a worse situation in the history of CFB than what Rhule took over at Baylor. That situation was lower than whale shit on the bottom of the ocean.

I mean, time will tell n all but….^^^

I think you have to define relevancy to answer the question.

Will Oklahoma win 7 conference championships in a row? Absolutely not

Will Oklahoma win the conference in the next 5 years? Probability is low

Will they win a national championship in the next 5 years? Probability is low especially if they haven’t done it in a weaker conference with 2 Heisman QB winners

I will note this the age of the portal and NIL so things are very different and so we don’t know what can or can’t be done based on the past.

Oklahoma isn’t going to post wins like they have in the past but the threshold for the playoff is going to expand so probability exist for them. Its going to take some adjustment playing different teams in different environments and everyone having them as a target plus it will take time to recruit the depth they will need in the trenches to play week in and out in the SEC.

They won’t be irrelevant and they should go bowling but there will be a drop off for the immediate future.

Their "immediate past" hasn't been too swift. They haven't even played in the last two Big 12 conference championship games.

lol

Cowherd has been trolling Oklahoma since their fans melted down over USC hiring Lincoln Riley. He's a die-hard USC fan and has never tried to pretend he has no bias when it comes to USC. This is just more of that.

I'd expect that Oklahoma will be fine in the SEC. They'll likely have a rough first couple of seasons, but I believe they will adjust.

Their recruiting ground isn't going to change all that much and actually improves a bit since they will be recruiting the same grounds as the other SEC schools.

How successful they are will be determined by how well they do in convincing recruits that would normally choose, 'Bama, LSU, UGA, etc. to take a chance on the "new" program.

It will also, of course, have a lot to do with the coach. Venables seems like a good coach, but I'm not sure he's the guy you want going into the same living rooms as Saban, Kirby and Brian Kelly. So, they will need to decide on him quickly and they better get it right because there isn't much room for error.
