Colorado to the Big 12?

If I'm the commish of the Big Twelby-Twelb:

"Dear Arizona State,

How would you like an absolutely realistic chance to actually WIN a Conference title in Football?

Sincerely,

Easy Conference to Win"

And if I'm the athletic director of San Diego State University:

"Dear AD at Colorado,

What the $&%@ took you so long? Don't you know this is going to cost us another $&%@ing 37 million dollars?? I mean, how SELFISH can you be?? You couldn't be bothered to get this done 3 weeks ago? I mean, $&%@!

$&%@ you,

Dead AD walking

I can't imagine SDSU loves the Buffaloes right now...

I actually feel bad for them. In hindsight, they are probably kicking themselves for not going through with leaving, but for the Buffs.

They did the right thing because as it stands right now by the time the dominoes fall the PAC might not exist anymore. Not leaving is so much better than paying a buyout, joining a league and then it folds.

There's too much tradition between Colorado and the PAC for them to bail to another conference they have no affiliation with.
Um. Hey gaybo. Colorado was a founding member of the big x2 back in the 70s.

You did and now we are blaming you for the death of the PAC also because had you joined this wouldn't have happened.

TLHN strikes again.
I Been sayin it for years cause… it’s true

I can see a world where the name "Pac 12 Conference" still carries a little more cache than "Mountain West" but you may be exactly right.

Maybe the MW and PAC can cobble something together in the next couple of years that isn't just WAC 2.0

If the 4 corners go to the Big 12 then Oregon and Washington pretty need to beg their way into the B1G or bite the bullet and join the Big 12.

They PAC can survive Colorado leaving but if another school joins them I’m betting everyone will scramble for a spot.

You just can’t lose 4 P5 mainstream teams and replace them with G5 schools and pretend you’re good.

SDSU best bet was for no one else to leave the PAC and then get the invite to either the PAC or Big 12. That didn’t happen so their window closed and they made the right decision.

Truth is the top 2 spots are taken and won’t be relinquished so everyone is vying for 3rd best and hoping that gives them one or two automatic spots in the playoffs.

I think the Big 12 is looking long term because in 2036 odds are at least 4 teams leave the ACC and ND finds another arrangement. If the Big 12 can kill off the PAC that hands them the 3rd spot. Considering they aren’t going to do better it’s the smart track.

lol.. They made their own funeral.. Should have let UT bring LHN with them.. Or should have allowed UT/aggy join back in 1990 (had to be a unanimous vote and Stanford was the lone nay vote)

I'm not sure what's bigger news right now..CU going to the Big12 or DEION going to the Big12
