Went out for a few beers to a small town about 8 miles from me last night.

These piles of snow are everywhere in town.

I have friends on county roads (gravel) that have been advised they won't be dug out until Wednesday.
My county road is paved and the road grader got it opened yesterday afternoon. It had 2-3 foot drifts along the entire 3 mile stretch.
That was a heck of a storm not to be classified as a blizzard.

My lane is about 400 yds to the county road. I'd have never gotten out of here without my skid-loader.

No way a pickup with a plow would have gotten through it.

Left the house for the first time in three days.

Did not know I was going to be auditioning for Ice Road Truckers. Fuck….

Got about a foot and a half before the cold blew in.

All the wet snow is ice. All the light snow is blowing. Maybe I’ll think of venturing back out into the world on Wednesday. Maybe.

Same, and somehow ended being humanitarian of the day...gave this little old lady my soup (she had waited in the long deli line, right behind me just for soup, and I ordered the last of the kind she wanted, right before her..lol. I saw her react, paid for my soup and sammich, and then gave her the soup), then after picking up the heathens from school, ended up pushing some tard out of the "ditch" (side of the road in the plow berm.:rolleyes2:) And I think she may have actually been a little tarded. She had on slippers. It's -20 out still, and she just didn't seem like she should be driving anything more than an adult tricycle with a basket on the front.

Just spent 20 minutes watching a red shouldered hawk make a meal out of a rabbit 40 yards from my back door. I guess my habitat brush piles are just fancy bird feeders.

The sun coming out, the wind dying down, and a rise from sub-zero temperatures to a balmy 7° yesterday, brought the pheasant out of their shelter to feed and frolic.

There are 20 pheasant in this shot.

Looks like the pile of snow I have shoved at the end of my driveway. But we are going to be up to 35 degrees by five today. Break out the shorts

Out here in East Texas, temps dropped into the teens and we had a small amount of snow and ice over the course of 2 days. That means the roads were impassable for 3 or 4 days and the supermarkets were completely out of bread, milk, eggs, and ramen. Folks down here treat snow/ice like it's the end of the world. We never even lost electricity. Smh
