Curious how the CFP would handle this

I mean they threw downfield all game in the first matchup. The difference on that side of the ball was osus dl got home.
First matchup. Not yesterday, at least nothing dedicated. I get their top WR wasn't 100% but a NC team should be able to overcome that. They did not.

Seeding needs to be a discussion. The guy claiming it's his team and everyone else, no one can compete with them all year, right through the 3rd quarter of the Rose Bowl doesn't get to be a part of it.
Personally, I would eliminate the first round byes.

Holden was puking on the field, and an "injured" Stewart was dancing beside him during the timeout. NIL money well spent on that one :pound:

Complaining about a WR being hurt when Ohio State has been working with a makeshift OL for weeks is hilarious,

Ah, here's the OD meltdown thread I've been waiting for

... well worth the wait - this thread delivers!

I'm very thankful for this thread. It allows me to try out a new recipe for Duck tear soup. It's plenty salty, but needs a little more meat for substance.

A bracket clearly flawed.

I've never seen it where the best team and only unbeaten team gets the hardest path to the championship game, this isnt how playoff seeding works.
It isn't the hardest path when you don't win a single game. It is simply getting an absolute beat down.

Be thankful Ohio simply ran out the clock after going up 34-0. It could have been even worse.

Haven't you heard? Oregon can finish #1 in some stupid computer system so they clearly got the screw job!

Someone from Oregon got the screw job alright -- it was the fans who shelled out thousands of dollars to watch their football team get raw dogged by Ohio.

The football team simply was overmatched and quacked under pressure.

The College Football Playoff expanded this year to 12 teams. Did the equate, or did the college football world, take into account for if you have a situation where a team only has one loss, that coming in the playoffs but a 2 loss team wins the national championship or if the two teams in the national championship game lost to that undefeated team?

For example, Oregon entered the playoffs as the #1 team and undefeated. The Ducks beat Ohio State and Penn State, two playoff teams and two teams in the playoffs. The Ducks won the B1G which both Ohio State and Penn State are apart of. Oregon only suffered one loss, which came in the playoffs. They only got one game in the playoffs to play while the other two got an extra game.

What if Ohio State and Penn State played in the national championship game? Where does that put Oregon? A possible debate for a share of the national championship? I mean the Ducks beat both of them and potentially will have less losses than the winner. Penn State is 0-1 vs the Ducks and Ohio State would be 1-1. Seems this is a plausible scenario the CFB world forgot to iron out when they put together the bracket. Major flaw in their playoff ranking and bracket. Another reason the system needs a complete overhaul and revamp for next year and year's moving forward. We can't have this mistake happening again and we can't punish the #1 team in the country for going undefeated and winning their conference championship. No other sport have I seen such an asinine playoff ranking setup.

Show us on the doll, where did the committee touch you.

Check out how UGA, a BYE team, is doing. A stat I know off the top of my head is that every BYE team has trailed by double digits in their game

Further, just like it took Arizona state a half to get into a rhythm to come back vs Texas.

Second half of rose bowl:
Oregon 21
Ohio state 7

You know, Fuzznuts might be on to something. If Georgia loses this game, They should probably get matched up with Orgin for the REAL NC Game. Obviously the CFP people didn’t give them enough of an advantage. Both teams had to travel a full 12 hours to their bowl venues.

The AP is not part of the CFP committee. The championship isn't decided by voters anymore. The AP hasn't been part of the process since 2004.

AP BACKS OUT OF BCS
Isn't that when they crowned USC as champions even though they weren't in the agreed upon championship game? USC still claims that as a championship.
