CWS 2022

All I can say is I'm glad we aren't on the West Coast anymore because 9 pm start times that ended at 1 am were getting old fast.

Then they shouldn't have been favored to get to Omaha at all.

It's also stiff SEC competition.

Baseball is about peaks and valleys. Teams that peak in late May/early June get to Omaha.

Seems Childress left plenty of talent in the cupboard for a better coach to take over.
I say that and I like Childress. He played a big roll in getting Nebraska to the CWS in the early 2000's.
I was not a happy camper when Anderson got the HC job over Childress when Van Horn left for Arkansas.
Childress didn't leave too much, Schloss recruited and brought in a lot of key players.

Yeah. I didn't make it through those left coast late games.

One or two innings at best. I woke up in my recliner at appx 2 a.m. every time with the tv still on.

That lack of exposure is what hurts the PAC in every revenue generating sport.

Evidently, they had graduation and some other stuff going on at Oregon State and Auburn had to stay 90 minutes away from the venue as well because there were no rooms closer. Auburn's manager made a big effort of not using that as an excuse and dodging questions about it but that's a little ridiculous and there should have been consequences like Auburn gets to the home team two of the three games or OSU loses the right to host.

The freaking jet lag had to be weighing on them but I will say the 59 degrees versus the 98 degrees it has been in Alabama had to be nice.

I will be an Auburn fan at this CWS. A good friend of mine played catcher for them in the 80's. He made the minors, but not the majors.
He and his Auburn buds that made the trip a couple years ago put on some great tailgates.

Arkansas will be my #2.

All I can say is we are the hottest team in America the last month. After going undefeated in the Big 12 tourny and winning road series at Florida and at Virginia Tech I like our chances.

Best defensive team I've seen at the CWS was Oklahoma in 1994

That was back in gorilla ball when the aluminum bats were hot. The NC was also single game back then.

Oklahoma: 5
Auburn: 4

Oklahoma: 4
Arizona St: 3

Oklahoma: 6
Arizona St: 1

National Championship

Oklahoma: 13
Georgia Tech: 5

One of my coworkers played on that team.

Arkansas 650
Ole Miss 700
Auburn 750
OU 800
TAMU 850

IMO, worst bet: ND
best bet: Auburn

OU surpassed expectations this year already. Team is hot and peaking at the right time. Hope they play loose with nothing to lose.

A&M also surpassed expectations and hasn't lost a game in the regionals or super regionals. I like our odds against OU.

I kind of like Arkansas for the money. And they probably have the most fans there.

Should be a good game. Both teams have 42 wins. OU beat Auburn while you lost your series to Auburn. You won your game with Texas and we split with them. We won our series with TCU and you beat them in a game. You went 1-1 vs Florida and we went 2-1. So on paper it looks pretty even with a slight edge to OU.

That shit’s annoying when even the under dog is a - on every game
