morning

had a nice 5 day weekend over the holiday. Feeling good and ready for the Christmas season.

rainy day here.

Getting ready to drive home today.... Gonna be long

so my sister, her boyfriend, and their dog, a basset hound, came over to pick up food that my mom had made.

we are hanging outside with the dogs, in the yard without leashes on, and I see an older man walk by the house walking his German Shepherd. He was heading towards a cul-de-sac, so I asked if he'd be coming back this way again. Mom says yes, he lives over there. So I make sure my dog is nearby so I can grab him since I don't want him running over to this German Shepherd I don't know.

walker comes back, I grab my dog, and I tell my sister to grab her basset hound. She doesn't. She doesn't grab the dog in the 30 yds between her dog and his guy despite me telling her to grab her damn dog. Instead she takes her time, tells the old man "oh don't worry, my dog is friendly" yada yada yada

the basset hound gets to the German Shepherd and the German Shepherd attacks. Latches onto my sister's dog's neck. The old man walking the dog is beating his dog with a cane and my sister, her bf, and my mom are trying to break the dogs apart. The basset hound is making an unGodly howl that gets the neighbor out, who also jumps on the literal dogpile. I bring my dog inside but by the time I got back, they had broken it up. Sister's bf pulled the German Shepherd's jaws apart and got the dog free.

No blood, just a puncture or two on the basset. Took her to the vet, some bruises but will be ok.

I got my 2020 Bourbon County Stout, so I am good for the season.

is there an actual deal with your purchase or are you just buying beer?
Just buying beer. Making a pit stop.

Have my Bourbon County reserved, along with the Caramella

Got a few Christmas gifts early this year when Patricia and Quinn were fired.

morning all

Nice long weekend, back to the grind. Thankfully not too much

Gophers ended Badgers dream of B1G championship, so that was a nice feeling

Kirk Cousins lead a nice comeback vs the mighty Carolina Panthers. Losses vs bad teams (Cowboys/Falcons) and not hanging on vs Seattle/Ten sting as far as playoff hunt goes, but you are what your record says you are.

Glad your sisters dog is ok.

And agreed, your sisters dog might be friendly, but never trust strange dog. And even "friendly" dogs can be aggressive on a leash as they tend to feel cornered.

I had to explain that to her after...

meanwhile, my mom did her best to villainize the old man and his dog. Had to set her straight too.

Did you backhand her? I never enjoyed backhanding my mom but it was for her own good

Morning. Had a good Thanksgiving, all things considered.

Had a Zoom call with my family around lunchtime. Good to check in with everyone. Little Guy put on a good show for his aunts and uncles.

We had dinner with the in-laws. BIL did not attend, as his school went back to in-person instruction and had COVID cases in the building last week. So, he was "at dinner" remotely.

Found out on Friday that one of my mom's co-workers had tested positive. Mom thinks she will be OK, but she didn't come to Little Guy's baptism out of concern for possibly spreading COVID. She'll check with her doctor today if she needs to get tested.

Actual baptism was alright, if awkward. We live streamed it, and a lot of people who otherwise wouldn't have been able to see it got to see the baptism. Little Guy was well behaved, and didn't freak out when he got water poured on his head. Had the attendees over for lunch afterwards, and the weather cooperated well enough. We were able to eat outdoors and be reasonably comfortable.

Got the garage organized some yesterday, and got a lot of trash out. Hoping I can get more stuff in order throughout the winter at this point.

I'm thinking I am going to do some Christmas decorations tonight. My neighborhood is doing some pretty solid outside decorations so I need to step mine up a little.

got the front yard raked yesterday, happy to have that done. Need to mow it and put down winterizer next...

the backyard will likely be this coming weekend. Might need to recruit some help

Waiting for winter weather to move in tonight-tomorrow. Expecting 4-6 inches. I will never ever get any toilet paper at this rate

Should we expect to see you limping around tomorrow?
