Taggert improved to (7-5) from Helfrich's (4-8).
Taggert didn't coach their bowl game. Cristobol did and they lost to Boise St (again).
iirc The duckies were high on Taggert and the direction of the program when he got hired and throughout the season.
That they were a stepping stone for him was a punchline.

The Dux were very high on Taggert (as were others), cuz he was a hot item at the time coming outta USF, but turned out to be garbage on the big stage. Giving him the boot was a no-brainer at the time, IMO.
All I'm saying is Taggert wasn't gonna be the Messiah he was touted as and, at least, Cristobol has this team sniffin hard at a CFP spot. This has been a strange & unique season, tho, with alot of Blue Bloods 'struggling'. Who knows, tho ... Cristobol could fall on his face in the future, too.

For a comparison; Oregon makes about $72 million in football revenue per year, Florida makes around $94 million.

He was a hot item coming outta Oregon too. Hence him using them as a stepping stone. Taggart was only there one season.
His faceplant came at FSU.
Hindsight is 20/20. Nobody knew when he went to Oregon and then to FSU that he "wasn't gonna be the Messiah"
To Oregon fans he was gonna be.
The jury is out on Cristobol. He's had success in a very easy conference.
USC is down, Washington is down, he lost to Stanford who got smoked (52-7) by Utah the other day, and struggled to put Washington away.
Someone posted a list of conference strength the other day and the PAC 12 was last among P5's and even behind two G5's. They were behind the MWC.

Yeah, the Pac12 is crappy weak and he may have gotten a break in that aspect against opponents. Who knows where UO would be if the Pac12 had some real quality competition.
Is this for real? If Cristobal left to any program in Florida it would be Miami and the Canes can't afford Cristobal right now. So sorry Gators, Cristobal is staying in the PNW.

Did FSU 'poach' Taggert from UO or was it mutual to just be rid of him? I seem to remember FSU played some shenanigans to 'obtain' their disaster.

Not sure where you think Cristobal is going. He is completely owning the PAC-12 and has an easy road to the CFP every year.
Cristobal has just taken over the PAC-12. He's going on his 3rd straight year of being a conference champion. We recruit like an SEC school, we have a defense like an SEC school, we have a powerful offense that can run the same run play over and over and can't be stopped. Oregon and Cristobal have created a powerhouse out West and this conference is our stepping stone every year to the CFP
