December 1 morning - the end (of 2020) is nigh

Think just some spaghetti and chicken

your kids are more adventurous than Douche

I ordered a spicy tuna poke bowl last week from my local sushi place...I would have rather had rolls
Shit. Now I want a poke bowl. There's a place that makes an octopus one that I love.

A former associate bought me a $300 bottle a few years ago and goddamn that was the best wine I've ever had and it wasn't close.
Nice, and I'll tell you a secret (you may already know), a wine that costs that much out of the gate is almost certainly suitable for "cellaring." Really well made wines can be aged in the bottle under appropriate conditions for a LONG time, and the aging adds a subtlety that is out of this world.

I had a few bottles that I kept 20+ years and they were like NOTHING I've ever drank before.

If you have the patience, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Another cool idea is to buy your kids a nice bottle and save it to drink with them when they turn 21.

i'm not a sushi fan, but can eat california rolls and few other sushi rolls

Sushi is one of the items my niece misses after going vegetarian. (she still eats vegetarian sushi, but she does miss crab/tuna/fish)
I'm not a fan of sashimi, but I like sushi rolls a lot. The texture of straight sashimi is a no go for me.

Same on tartare. I've never had carpaccio, so I'm not sure if I'd be alright with it or not. That's at least thin and usually has some other textures involved.

give me all of it.

I avoid roe though...that's not my thing really.

There's a poke bowl place a block away... Maybe I'll just get one, too

Got my kids to try sushi rolls on Sunday night and they loved them. Started them out with California rolls and now we'll slowly make our way onto other options. Even if they both just like California rolls, it opens up the options for getting sushi more often.
Yeah, careful what you wish for on that tip.

My kids are sushi monsters and sashimi and nigiri aren't cheap. We had sushi for lunch and I was psyched that the place had a pretty good lunch special on maki rolls, which is what I got for everyone. I had to listen to Slink Jr and Slinkette bitch about not getting pieces. . .

Ham got started really young. I think sometime around 1 or so. Started her on avocado and sweet potato rolls. Moved up to cooked stuff like shrimp and crab, then started with the raw stuff after she turned 2. We actually had her second birthday dinner at our favorite sushi place.

I eat anything. If I go to a really good sushi place, I'll usually just ask the sushi chef to choose my dinner. I've gotten some crazy and amazing things that way. That's how I ended up eating fugu.

Have you ever had uni?

Yeah, roe isn't really my jam either. Although if it is a tiny bit of it, I am alright with it.
