Did Bama break Georgia?

much bigger gain for Nebraska than it is a loss for UGA IMO. besides, his family already had ties to Nebraska.

Matt Rhule is gonna regret it when Raiola’s daddy turns out to be Craig James 2.0

The hookers in Lincoln best watch out.

All the UGA boards are saying this is an NIL move. Nebraska dumped a ton of $$$ and UGA isn't going to match it. We also aren't going to guarantee PT. Hate to see him go, but we have another top 10 QB in this class coming in. Would rather have him, but it isn't a killer situation.

The next 10 days are going to be wild as everyone starts dumping cash left and right.
I'd say this is pretty accurate because Rhule was the one who came out and said the going rate was 1mm to 2mm for a QB and that isn't a rumor but a direct quote.

I think Rhule is getting played because no one is putting that kind of cash out for an unproven freshman and I think this kid might be testing the waters to see if someone will up the ante.

I guess he's more "quiet" about it than some of these dads, in the way that he doesn't put it out publicly, but word has always been since his recruitment that he's a gigantic pain in the ass behind the scenes.
Lock the kid up in a storage shed for a little while.

I mean, I know this happens at a lot of places. But taking a step back it seems absurd. Your son is an adult, you knew what you were signing up for and life isn't always fair. But its 2023...

He apparently went ballistic on our QB coach and told him to tell reporters to stop being negative about his son. Lol at expecting only positive press as a major college QB.

So there are Georgia posters online saying that Nebraska has offered the kid 8mm or 2mm a year to come there. If that is anywhere from the truth (and I doubt it) then they can have the kid and good luck with expectations from all the other players.

Welcome to modern CFB.

BTW.... That's not a lot of money from an NIL collective and a passionate fanbase. Arch Manning got $3.8 million. Skill players are always gonna get more $$. It's like the HS QB typically being named prom king.

There are 864,000 households in Nebraska. At just $10/month that's $8,640,000/month or $103,000,000/year. That's households where the vast majority would be considered 'middle class'. It's not including donations from businesses and BMD's who would be donating considerably more. There are over 45,000 millionaires in Nebraska who are donating considerably more than $10/month.

There have been multiple NIL collectives formed in Nebraska over the last year or so that are focused on different areas. For instance there's a beef jerky company that donates a percentage of their sales to NIL for offensive linemen. Pipeline Jerky

Nebraska has a low population (1.9 million), but the university is not competing with another in-state major university, NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. Nebraska's never gonna get back to being competitive with #25 ranked recruiting classes.

NIL's in it's infancy (about 2 years), it's not going away, and over the course of a few years will level the playing field.

My understanding was the Mannings weren't ging to take NIL until he was a starter. Was that BS?

I don't know how true, but he's supposedly donating some or all to charity.

"Manning has an estimated NIL valuation of $3.8 million, trailing only Bronny James ($12.6 million), the son of NBA star LeBron James."

THe Georgia boards are saying it's NIL, but that those numbers are way high.

This is true. You never want to lose a guy like this, but we have another Elite 11 QB in this class, it looks like Beck is coming back for another year, and we have Gunnar Stockton as the heir apparent. This also opens up some of the 2026/2026 QBs out of Georiga who were seeing a logjam at QB who might now be more favorable. We'll be fine ... Smart is the best recruiter in the country for a reason.

I think I trust Matt Rhule when he says it's $1 - $2 million/yr NIL for a good QB.

I'd guess Lombardi, Outland Trophy level linemen could go as high as half that.

It's the wild wild west.

Perhaps a proven QB in the portal, but not a HS kid who has never taken a snap.

From what I hear (which take with a grain of salt these aren't actual sources) is that this kid played at 3 different high schools and has been linked with multiple commitments to college programs.

Those type of kids rarely pan out.

I'm actually kind of surprised the majority of people I talk to when I'm out and about are unaware of these collectives/collaboratives, and how their small donations when combined with others add up pretty fast.

$10/month is just 33 cents/day.

People drop $10/day at Starbucks like it's nothing.
