Welcome to modern CFB.
BTW.... That's not a lot of money from an NIL collective and a passionate fanbase. Arch Manning got $3.8 million. Skill players are always gonna get more $$. It's like the HS QB typically being named prom king.
There are 864,000 households in Nebraska. At just $10/month that's $8,640,000/month or $103,000,000/year. That's households where the vast majority would be considered 'middle class'. It's not including donations from businesses and BMD's who would be donating considerably more. There are over 45,000 millionaires in Nebraska who are donating considerably more than $10/month.
There have been multiple NIL collectives formed in Nebraska over the last year or so that are focused on different areas. For instance there's a beef jerky company that donates a percentage of their sales to NIL for offensive linemen.

Nebraska has a low population (1.9 million), but the university is not competing with another in-state major university, NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. Nebraska's never gonna get back to being competitive with #25 ranked recruiting classes.
NIL's in it's infancy (about 2 years), it's not going away, and over the course of a few years will level the playing field.
