EA Sports College Football 25

How many fucking patches has this game had?

You play on Heisman and your o-lineman STILL have the IQ of Radio. They can't stop running into RBs and purposely avoiding blocks like the plague. Dudes will pull and then back up instead of lead blocking through the hole.

I hadn't played in a few weeks but my first game in I had my QB throw the ball three feet above my wide open WR in the end zone. The DB still caught it though. Sure, he was out of bounds completely. But that didn't stop the game from calling it an interception, disabling my ability to challenge, and refusing to initiate a booth review.

I keep hearing that Madden is worse but I just can't imagine it's THAT much worse than this.

I have not played in quite awhile. EA fixed some things in the last patch, and now I hear the kicking meter is really small. And the punt or kickoff power meter is partially blocked by the scoreboard. I am just so shocked how things are fixed, and it screws up something that "appears" to be totally unrelated. How does fixing zone coverages or adding in new plays affect the kicking meter?

I was a huge fan at the announcement of the game coming out. I got it after vacation. I have had to go through a lot of message boards to find sliders and settings that work, the game plays "good" for me on my 50 year old level. I thought the game would captivate me more than it has, and it has. But after each patch and/or update, there is one to a dozen new problems that appear.

My WR seem to run into each other a lot more all of a sudden. I find I get intercepted where the DB is 10 yards in front of the WR who appears open behind him the ball looks to be on target and now all of a sudden the DB has a10 foot vertical

the kicking meter and especially punting are worse now. kicking is more just feels different than bad. but punting is trash all of a sudden

It does seem like with a new patch things get fixed but they create other bugs. This game isn't close to what it should be and I don't think we will see them take it to the next level until the 2026 edition.

If you don't hold down turbo with RB they don't pull off their assignments and your RB can skip from OL to OL and hit the hole. I never hold down turbo until out into open space, already past OL or on the outside. That is huge key.

Pass blocking is pretty bad on Heisman, for the most part. It is difficult to run a pass heavy offense on Heisman. You have to run the ball. It is definitely frustrating.

Yeah the meter was great before the latest patch. I can barely see the meter and the power bar is difficult to see on punts. I hardly punt anymore lol. There are bigger problems in this game with patches going through and other aspects of the game being broken. That shouldn't happen. Regardless, it's been one year of this game we need to see big improvements in this game this year and going forward into next year.
Madden still isn't fixed after 20+ years and the gameplay looks bad this year. Not college football bad but still not good. They have a lot of new added features but gameplay still sucks.

Yeah this happened a lot in Madden too for years. DB either speeds up or the QB vastly underthrows so the DB can catch it easily. The WR's running into each other is the most frustrating thing so you can anticipate a lot of plays like crossers. DB can bump the WR without a PI call too...usually in either case it results in an interception.

I was definitely getting used to kicking and enjoying it bc it was a challenge unlike Madden but the small meter is awful. Punting is brutal now.

Completely predictable that EA would just keep fucking shit up more with their many many patches.

How about putting out a good solid complete game at release so you don't constantly have to attempt patches to fix all the glaring issues?

No incentive. The game sold like hotcakes. Madden and FIFA continue to do big numbers with zero effort from the devs.

No need to give effort when there is zero competition. People will keep buying a shit product because its "better than nothing". Basically roll out the same (sometimes a worse version of the same) shitty game year after year with updated rosters and rake in the profits.

I might give EA one more shot when the game comes out next year. I am not the type of video game fan that buys each year's version of the "new" game. Hopefully, for the fans' sake and interest, the next version will be a lot better. Hell, somewhat better. I don't even know what the new kicking meter looks like, been that long since I played the game.

What is so dumb is the fans say that certain things in the game are broke or "off". Not a damn complaint was about the kicking meter (at least from what I have read). And what they do? Change the kicking meter.

At least wait for early reviews, if it’s not an improvement they shouldn’t get encouragement by us buying it

Imo

Huh. The game is still buggy as hell and doesn't work right? Who ever could have seen this coming

Wait and see, but probably not.

Given the way game production works these days, I'm expecting this first edition to be buggy as hell, filled with bullshit microtransactions, and completely devoid of many features that the games had 10, 15 years ago.

I'll most likely just wait until they get the kinks worked out and add more features after the fan revolt and get the 26 edition.

I’m starting to beat the shit out of teams on Heisman with my 4-star Ball State team. I won one national title already and lost to ND last year. Starting to pass the ball more finally bc I have speed at WR but I still throw a ton of picks. It’s just impossible with WR’s running into each other or defenders holding them up, speed boost by the DB or my QB just underthrowing by 15 yards (QB with 98 throw power). They definitely make it unreal at times

Year 3 having a blast. Made a historic comeback in Champaign last night after being down 0-28 early.

Won in Iowa, Nebraska then Illinois to complete a 3 game road sweep after a devastating home L to Florida.

Play B1G games vs Notre Dame & #1 USC next to close out the reg sea.

That was my plan with this game. I was on vacation out of the country when the game came out. I read a lot of problems that people were having and these weren't related to gameplay. All sorts of image stuff. Some declared it looked like PS2 graphics, some said the game was dark, and a host of other things. I didn't see any of that. I wonder if all the problems or many of them came from having it digitally. I always buy discs.

As far as waiting for reviews, that wouldn't have worked out this time 100%. The game was decent and playable in the beginning. With the game being a couple months old, and now we get the sucky kick meters and such.

Anyone else have an issue with the QB fumbling? Every time I take off running all of sudden after this last patch every time a guy hits me he fumbles.

I know it happens in Madden but this game has been pretty good so far. Not too many fumbles. Nothing seems out of the ordinary for me

Yeah, the kicking mechanics were one of the bright spots of the game I thought, easy enough to use, but also a challenge and easy to fuck up. Felt it was perfect for giving college kicker vibes.

And now they’ve managed to fuck even that up.

It depends on the QB.
