EA Sports College Football 25

Rankings is a quick fix through a patch. A lot of complaints on strange teams getting in the playoff. That shit is just going to happen from time to time.

Definitely some gameplay issues but it feels more realistic than Madden and it isn't close.

It seems like you are glaring on all the negatives but fail to mention all the positives. It will take some time but this is literally the first go-around for a game we haven't seen in 11 years. The Coliseum wasn't built in one day.

Some simple things people don't notice. If you call streaks and you get a ton of time in the pocket the defenders actually run back with the WR's. This was never a thing in Madden, it was just a glitch. Also, if you do a playmaker the defender will follow if they have the awareness. Never happened in Madden. Simple stuff like that is huge for gameplay. A more positives than negatives.

It's more about 9-3 teams being constantly valued over undefeated or 1 loss teams (from power conferences) at the top. I don't think that's something that's every going to happen in real life.

Multiple years where multiple G5 teams with 2 losses are in the top 10 as well, I don't think that's "something that's just gonna happen" either.

4/5 loss teams seem to constantly crack the playoff as well, another thing I dont think is going to happen much in real world.

They had so much time to develop this game there's literally no excuses for having the gameplay be this broken, like I said it's very obvious they cared more about the optics of the game rather than the actual gameplay.

The OL AI is completely broken, more often than not do certain blockers just either stand there and literally do nothing or just randomly run around doing something they arent supposed to be doing. That's the most frustrating part.

Well that and the defensive AI thinking constantly that it's best to run behind a ball carrier and chase them from behind rather than taking a proper path to the play.

I'd complain about defenders having super human jumping abilities when it comes to breaking up or Intercepting passes, but that was something that was in NCAA 14 too.

I guess the patch yesterday or the next patch. Not sure.

Here's some of the other Dynasty issues EA said it's working on. EA included tips for a workaround on some of these issues:

  • Players unable to load a previously established online dynasty.
  • Adding teams to Pac-12 doesn't generate a new conference schedule.
  • Modified conference rules aren't saving.
  • A recruit who reaches their Top 5 stage won't always display as "Ready for a Visit."
  • Maximum cap of 20 created coaches instead of the intended 32.
  • Some players' jersey numbers and/or overall rating changing when editing their equipment.
  • Game freezing when simulating plays quickly after exiting Super Sim.
  • Practice not appearing as an option in the Team tab.
Team Builder
  • Cleats default to Adidas regardless of selected brand apparel in Play Now.
  • Second custom image layer not appearing in the field.

So far better than Madden, but really nothing mind blowing or better than any other NCAA game which is pretty disappointing after all these years.

Passing is still an absolute bitch because the AI knows every play you run and sits on every route. Even a perfectly timed screen against a blitz will still have one defender run through all your blockers and smack your running back down right as he catches the ball. You really have to hot route on every play to be effective.

Blocking is god awful. O-lineman seem to purposefully try to get in your way.

On the default settings your defense is either swiss cheese or picks off the CPU 4 times a game.

The new kicking system is awful.

As with NCAA 14 there are ways to cheese through some of these issues but it gets old after a few games.

And of course, the elephant in the room, no Kibbie Dome so automatic 1/5.

Adding teams to Pac 12 will generate new schedule if you make divisions and tell it to play 8 or 9 conference games.
the modified conference rules save but yeah sometimes you have to do it a couple times.
i havent had issues with recruit in top 5 not showing ready for visit unless i dont have enough hours anyway.

lol, yeah this game is completely fucked.

Just in one games I've had:

1. Ball hit WR in the face on third down. No attempt to catch it.
2. Wide open WR running down the field and QB just sails it out of bounds on a basic throw.
3. My RB get injured while I'm kneeling the ball to put the game away, forcing me to take a timeout and stop the clock.
4. Trying to put a guy in motion which doesn't work and instead freezes everything so I can't snap the ball, forcing me to take a timeout.

Same old shit.

what skill level and what team

What fucking genius at EA decided to change the read option controls and not let you change it with settings.

I'm starting to get ahold of it kind of but muscle memory from every fucking NCAA game prior has me still hitting X sometimes thinking its gonna hand to the RB, only to have my QB keep it and lose 5 yards.

My son just got it. For Madden we created a QB named Pudgy McGooberface. He took the colts all the way. Now we get to live out Pudgy’s backstory as he pulls off the unimaginable NC title run at Austin Peay.

I have. But I just assumed they didn’t want to visit. Didn’t even think about it being a glitch.

I like the kicking system. I remember it being too easy before, this one makes it easy enough to fuck up it gives it real college kicker vibes.

lol, sounds like your team just sucks.

This. I just gave up on the read option. The previous controls were way more natural. I haven’t been able to not fuck it up once.

I'm probably in 4th and inches on this game just as much as 1st and 10 the way it forces the CPU defense to always sit you on your ass at the sticks.

And damn, I just don't know how to explain it but the game feels gay.

It's not terrible but it's just not good at all either.

It's like giving dry anal to your first cousin every time I play.

Drags will save your life

So I was beginning to find a scheme that limits the defense even on Heisman difficulty. I took the challenge of coaching the Cornfuckers. Started off 5-2 and destroyed Indiana. Then I got to the Horseshoe and my WR’s were shaking in their boots. Couldn’t see what WR’s I was throwing to LOL. They settled in and I got within 2 scores at half. I am starting to get used to defensive adjustments but it is difficult bc you have limited time bc offenses snap the ball so damn quick. A couple times I tried to switch players and got switched on a DB and they scored. I lost my 2 scores which is pretty solid on Heisman. Defense is tough but not impossible. I say this after giving up 55 to tOhio State lol.

The right stick to switch players is a very nice added feature but if you don’t know how to use it, you will get fucked.

Nickel-Double Mug has worked for me with some pre-snap adjustments.

On offense drags is a life saver. A handful of great playbooks depending on your personnel. I have only used a handful but I like UNLV and Zona.

Yep that was strange. For years we hold the button to hand it off now we do the opposite. I hope they change on Madden too or we are all fucked.
