EA Sports College Football 25

Don’t use the stupid revamped passing. It sucks. I use the placement and accuracy with the speed at about 16. It has been a huge improvement

How did this game get released? Holy shit. The bugs and obvious pre determined outcomes are unbelievable. I think I need to stop playing and then try it again in 3 months when more patches are out and the game is actually complete. Fuck EA.

So I’m using Florida in a Dynasty w my oldest boy and man do I suck as Florida. He’s doing great as SMU leading the nation in all types of records. I’m like 4-5 with a bunch of ranked opponents coming up next. Might not even make a bowl this year. 🤦‍♂️

At least it is realistic

I went 9-3 with the Cornfuckers. I lost to Colorado and Purdue games by a combined 3 points and got my nuts kicked in by Ohio St. I was one spot away from being in the CFP. Heisman difficulty is definitely pretty difficult and kicking is extremely hard past 40 yards. I will ramp up my schedule in year 2, I think I have 6 ranked teams on the schedule preseason.

I am not saying recruiting is broken but I think it is fairly easy to get 4 stars if you are a 1 or 2 star program. In real life it is basically impossible. Being that Nebraska was a 4 star program, I mainly got a ton of 4 and 3 stars (mainly 4 stars) and I think I grabbed three 5 stars. 5 stars are still very difficult to recruit but they will fix recruiting for lower prestige schools eventually.

They will not complete the game or add missing features. It will be added to next years installment. Fuck EA indeed.

They do have patches, I believe once a month or so and some include gameplay. Pursuit, zone coverage tighter and better tackling can be tinkered. Updates throughout the year. It is definitely fixable. When and what they do specifically who knows right now but I expect changes at some point.

Welcome to modern video games. Literally every game gets released buggy as hell and is patched later. A good number of them come with a Day 1 patch where you can't even play it until you download the patch

So I was beginning to find a scheme that limits the defense even on Heisman difficulty. I took the challenge of coaching the Cornfuckers. Started off 5-2 and destroyed Indiana. Then I got to the Horseshoe and my WR’s were shaking in their boots. Couldn’t see what WR’s I was throwing to LOL. They settled in and I got within 2 scores at half. I am starting to get used to defensive adjustments but it is difficult bc you have limited time bc offenses snap the ball so damn quick. A couple times I tried to switch players and got switched on a DB and they scored. I lost my 2 scores which is pretty solid on Heisman. Defense is tough but not impossible. I say this after giving up 55 to tOhio State lol.

The right stick to switch players is a very nice added feature but if you don’t know how to use it, you will get fucked.

Nickel-Double Mug has worked for me with some pre-snap adjustments.

On offense drags is a life saver. A handful of great playbooks depending on your personnel. I have only used a handful but I like UNLV and Zona.
I need to start trying some different playbooks. I've been using the "multiple offense" (the generic one, not program specific), got rolling pretty good bouncing between gun and pistol formations. Recruited a fullback and started mixing in I formations.

I never played '14, but I think I had '13, whatever the case, I remember some of the later versions letting you go pretty deep in playbook customization. Could make your own playbook and add and remove formations and even plays. I've gotten pretty comfortable with the Multiple, but find it super annoying it has wishbone in there. What team runs a mix of single back/pistol, gun, I formation, and oh, here, throw wishbone in there for some reason... It's easy enough to just not use, but would be way more useful to throw an extra pistol set up in there or something.

That wasn't my experience. I started my dynasty with Nevada and only landed a couple 3 stars the first year, the rest 2 star. Did get really easy to land 3 stars and a couple 4 stars year two though. Which, to your point I guess, is still pretty unrealistic for Nevada after one good year. Or I'm a god damn recruiting genius.

Have yet to have a 5 star show any interest.

Yeah this shit is actually retarded.

I got my DBs literally running away from their assignment at the snap so the CPU can get an easy completion.

My guys routinely get injured and force the clock to stop when I'm trying to run the clock out.

Once a game I am not allowed to snap the ball and have to take a timeout.

I've been locked out of scheduling a visit for a recruit mulitple times with no explanation.

The CPU snapped the ball through their own end zone and was credited with a 0 yard rush by "Player" instead of a safety.

It goes on and on.

This might be the worst NCAA game ever in terms of playability.

So far better than Madden, but really nothing mind blowing or better than any other NCAA game which is pretty disappointing after all these years.

Passing is still an absolute bitch because the AI knows every play you run and sits on every route. Even a perfectly timed screen against a blitz will still have one defender run through all your blockers and smack your running back down right as he catches the ball. You really have to hot route on every play to be effective.

Blocking is god awful. O-lineman seem to purposefully try to get in your way.

On the default settings your defense is either swiss cheese or picks off the CPU 4 times a game.

The new kicking system is awful.

As with NCAA 14 there are ways to cheese through some of these issues but it gets old after a few games.

And of course, the elephant in the room, no Kibbie Dome so automatic 1/5.
Man, if this ain't the truth. I am giving up tons of yards but not loads of points. My San Diego State dynasty, FCS somebody and Eastern Michigan gave us more of a game than Oregon State (by a long shot). Then, 4-0 Hawaii comes to visit, and they threw 5 picks, and two of those were pick sixes.

You just have to turn pics down in the settings to make it somewhat playable.

i dont always throw picks in this game but when i do 95% are pick 6. doesnt matter who grabs it they made it unlikely the fast wr, rb or qb will catch anyone

I guess I meant over time.

I am in my second season at Rice (one star program) and one 4 star commit my first year.
I am five games in and I already have four 4 stars committed but I also jumped to a 3 star program. Strange I jumped that high for going 9-4. I am 1st on a couple 5 star lists too.

Seems like a big jump but I guess not crazy.

Playing random people online is no fun, people have already figured out how to exploit all of the glaring flaws in the gameplay. It basically becomes a cheese war or hoping you can get lucky and stop their cheese plays.

I understand that even good games have flaws that can be exploited, but it's just so easy in this one.

My buddy and I are in the same online franchise and he is experiencing the same as you. He said the game sucks. I just don't think he put time into the game....I am not saying you don't but the game is pretty complex. It isn't simple like years ago.

practice - I didn't spend a lot of time but when choosing a new playbook I will take time looking at offensive and defensive playbooks, setting audibles and trying some different pre-snap things on defense.

playbooks - I think he only tried two playbooks. Not saying it's the issue but scheme + personnel matters a ton in this game.

It kind of made sense considering yesterday he asked me, "how do you pitch the ball?". He isn't utilizing RPO's, options, etc. I don't think he knows how to shift the line or make any pre-snap adjustments on defense at all. He refuses to try different passing controls. We started with revamped passing and I think he changed to classic. I tried 3 different kinds and the placement and accuracy has been great and most realistic imo.

In this game you need do those things to be successful imo. The game is definitely way more complex than games used to be but welcome to the gaming world. If you don't have time, you won't be good at this game.

All that being said, defense is extremely difficult especially with a lower prestige school with lesser athletes. EA said they did this on purpose to reflect the college game but they definitely went a little overboard.

I just started another dynasty with a one-star program and I plan on setting it on Heisman with the CPU slider turned up to 100 to see how it is. I might be stupid but All-American is getting too easy. Heisman is still very difficult to win games with a better program.
I got my DBs literally running away from their assignment at the snap so the CPU can get an easy completion.
This happens sometimes but this happened ALL THE TIME in Madden. Like if they put a guy in motion I have to control my defensive player to move them, it was awful in Madden. It is still a minor problem but rarely in NCAA.
My guys routinely get injured and force the clock to stop when I'm trying to run the clock out.
The clock will only keep running under 2 minutes or the other team will be forced to take a timeout.
Once a game I am not allowed to snap the ball and have to take a timeout.
Never happened to me.
I've been locked out of scheduling a visit for a recruit mulitple times with no explanation.
This is another glitch that has been patched. It has happened to me a ton. Sometimes if I remove their pitches than the schedule will show up then I will just do the pitches again.
The CPU snapped the ball through their own end zone and was credited with a 0 yard rush by "Player" instead of a safety.
I haven't seen this one but I have witnessed the center snapping the ball over the QB's head and defensive player picking it up. That glitch has been fixed I believe in the latest patch fix.
