Electric Cars

This could break down a number of ways. I'm not entirely sure about the financials behind these chargers but there's a bunch of companies that operate them, and they charge to use them. I'm assuming the private businesses where they are installed are paid either a portion of the profits, or a percentage of the fees for use. How many get installed would be a different conversation. I'm not talking about free chargers here, just chargers.

So if someone goes to McDonalds for 30 minutes because they have a charger there, mcdonalds would benifit from anything purchased while there + hopefully either a direct percentage for how much time they spent at the charger charging - or a flat fee from the company to have that charger there. If there was a larger demand for chargers at the establishment, they could simply put in more and get more of that money?

Extras at renting places has always cost more. Like I gave the example of -- covered parking, or sometimes just parking.
You're talking about drastically re-configuring infrastructure. This will get passed down to the consumer somewhere. Either McDonalds charges people to charge their vehicles or the manufacturers charge McDonalds to provide charging, which means McDonalds raises prices. This will not be a wash. Not to mention the amount of construction and design that will need to go in to configuring the parking lots. I think you greatly underestimate someone parking in a spot for an hour during rush times. I see a parking lot full somewhere? Fuck it, im going elsewhere. McDonalds getting a third of the customers they normally get because people are turning McDonalds into a really slow gas station does McDonalds no favors. Successful restaurants fucking hate people who just sit at tables taking up space.

Yes. You pay to charge your vehicles at most stations. That already exists? Most stations you pay for. Very few are free. You pay to use them. Like a gas pump.

Aware, dawg.

Which is why I said, who eats the installation of the chargers cost and reconfiguration of the existing parking spaces? You're adding a shit ton of cost to add the capacity to charge somewhere. The bill is going to the consumer somewhere.

These massive companies that are installing chargers around the country to charge people to use them. That's pretty simple actually. The bill is paid by the consumers charging at them.

So McDonalds or your 3 star Michelin place are excited to have people clog their tables for 2-5x longer because #BigCharger is approaching them to dig up and reconfigure their parking lots for free?

The max amount of time, even with the current tech, you're sitting there is an hour. I don't think that's going to overly burden any restaurant like that. And charging companies are currently doing this. That's most of the charging stations you're going to encounter. 10 just went in at our local Meijer. You pay through some private company, and I'm sure Meijer gets a cut. Same with our local Kroger. You go to the grocery store, charge while you're shopping.

Grocery stores get some installed and grocery prices are SKYROCKETING. Coincidence? I think not.

He shows up in threads and thinks he is showing someone up by posting his retardation and yet he only makes it plain for everyone to see just how dumb he actually is.

you and I agree on this

So many "what-ifs" being proposed.

Who is paying for the wireless charging parking spots? Who is paying for the charging stations for every apartment unit? Are the retailers gonna eat it? Are the apartment managers gonna eat it? We're trying to roll out 50+ years worth of change in 10 years. What could go wrong?
In my mind it is essentially covered parking. The cover is a solar array that powers the inductive charging underneath it. Who covers maintenance I have no idea, but they have parking garages today that already tell you where the open spots are, so should be similar MX to that.
