ELTEXAN Is An Idiot - Super Thread

Can’t be a double play from the catch and the subsequent force. The force has been taken away via the IFR. But it can be a double play if a sleeping base runner tries to advance after the catch or the intentional non catch.

It’s not a dead ball until time is called.
It is dead the moment it hits the ground, per the rule. I posted it. If it is clearly catchable then it is IFR. If it then hits the ground it is deemed intentional and the ump has to call it dead. If it is caught and the runner tags and wants to try to advance, that's the only way it can be doubled off but the runner has to be insanely stupid to try to advance with the ball within 90 feet of him.

This takes me back to high school umpire clinics. The amount of guys that could not wrap their heads around IFR was staggering.

It’s simple as stated here….is there a force at third? Are there less than two outs? Then it’s in effect and now becomes a judgement call on “reasonable to catch, which really isn’t that hard to figure out.
Essentially if the defender camps under the ball then it is IFR. We had an IFR situation in my teams game this weekend. Luckily I know the rules and protected my baserunners, who the umps tried to call doubled off for not advancing on an easy pop. The second baseman was just inept and spun around for some reason.

Lol.

Again, I posted the rule.

But I accept your surrender and unwavering apology. I'll stop kicking your ass now and let you have the last word. Then I'm merging all your dumbass idea threads into one. Then I'll probably delete it.
The batter is not out the ball is let fall to the ground untouched UNLESS it’s an ifr situation, then batter is still out. That’s what your rule posting says.

It has nothing to do with the ump calling the play dead or not.

You’re a mod of a written word sports forum. You’re misinterpreting sports rules, and can’t comprehend the written word (that you yourself quoted)

Runners can advance at their own risk. And runners cannot advance on a dead ball.
