EPL 2021/2022

Hell of a win by Spurs. Title race is back on

Liverpool only 6 points behind
Spurs needed that. Season on brink after 3 EPL losses in a row. That was epic. Now need to win some of those games in hand and will be in Top 4. Arsenal games in hand even better. Win both, in Top 4 two behind Chelsea for spot 3. Livermore control their own destination if they can win big in their one makeup game. Surprise surprise.

Massive for Spurs. A win like this should really build confidence in the squad.

They need to kick on now and keep it going for the last 15 games of the season. Top 4 race and now even the title race are on!

Sirius had an interesting take on Harry Kane. Was he auditioning for Pep? And in other games spiting Levy? Thoughts?

I think its taken Kane 1/2 the season, but he's back in full swing. If we still had Nuno at the helm, then I'd be inclined to believe stuff like that. With Conte in charge, I think Kane is fully back and focused. I don't see any possible way he goes (or really even expresses any desire to leave) unless Conte leaves first.

If Juventus misses Top 4, look for him to head back to Torino.

I don't see it happening. (well i don't see either happening now that Juve has Vlahovic)

IMO, the only way Conte bolts on Spurs early is if they really disappoint him in the summer transfer window. If they're able to back him with a number of players he wants, I think he at minimum sees out next season because he will feel he has all the resources he needs to make a real run at things. That, and he and Paratici get along well by all accounts. They all seem to be on reasonable terms with Levy too, which is massive.

Winning a title with Spurs, or even bringing them back into contention territory, would be his greatest achievement.

Wow! Burnley yikes! Burnley has been better lately but ..... Conte is he really the man? 4 out of 5 losses in EPL. Leeds or Brentford will probably get relegated now that Burnley and Newcastle have improved.

Liverpool thrashing Leeds means they are +50 in goal differential vs Man City +46. Win Man City game and they are in first if they keep the pace up. EPL Title definitely in play now.

It's not a Conte problem, I can promise you that.

Conte taking the blame in his post game interviews. Saying maybe he is not good enough. It is weird. Like ManU. No manager can fix these problems.

Arsenal is going to finish 4th. Beat a decent Wolves team today. One of their make up games or 2 still in some cases. Still have 2 games in hand on Man U and 1 point behind them, 2 games in hand on West Ham and 3 points up on them, and 1 game in hand on Chelsea and 5 back of Chelsea. If they win that, two points behind Chelsea. No Man City or Chelsea left on schedule. Makeup game with Liverpool coming up but other than West Ham and Man United they are playing teams mid level to bottom. Man United and West Ham must beat Arsenal or they will be in huge trouble. Final 3 games Leeds, Newcastle, Everton for Arsenal.

By they way, how is Arsenal goal differential +11 and Chelsea +31 yet only 5 points back with 1 game in hand? Arsenal beat who they should beat and lose to who they should lose to, while Chelsea ties many they should beat.

Remember when I was laughing at Arteta. Not so much anymore. Even with that dysfunctional loser Aubamayang for much of the season, it is pretty good showing at this point in the season.

He's an emotional guy. Bad loss and he wonders aloud if he's even good enough. Good win and he's working with the best group of players he's ever had. I think it's mostly his frustration seeping through because he isn't getting the results he expected right away and they're in a real rough patch (minus the brilliant Man City game).

I think he sticks around through the end of the season and then its up to the club to support him in the summer with the transfers he needs.

Abramavich giving up day to day control of Chelsea. Hints he might get sanctioned. Probably won’t mean much short term but saw team might get seized from him.

Lol Man U. Tie versus Watford. Europa Conference League here we come.

Heading in to the past month, Spurs, ManU, and Arsenal were all in great position to make a run at that top 4 spot. Only Arsenal has taken their chance so far.

Spurs knocked out of FA Cup by Middlesbrough. ✊

Jesse Marsh taking over Leeds. Risky move. If they get relegated, that ends his coaching career in Europe and maybe other Americans too for awhile. Burnley loss today helped him since they have games in hand.

With their injuries, I don't expect much different from Leeds short term.

I tuned into that carnage. Spurs had about a half dozen great chances to score in regular time and couldn't get it done. By mid way through extra time they looked completely exhausted. Lack of depth in the squad really killed them.

I suppose the silver lining is they now only have 1 game a week until the end of the season.
