EPL 2021/2022

I think last relegation spot is down to Everton or Leeds. Burnley back to back wins against decent teams and their schedule is relatively light. Everton brutal except for Watford, but even if they only beat Watford they are still 1 point behind Leeds. Leeds plays Palace today. Their easiest game left.

IMO, strong chance Everton go down. I suppose they could find some form at the perfect time...crazier things have happened, but they looks like a squad that has given up.

Doesn't help having Frank Lampard as your coach either.

Well well well. What a difference a day makes. Everton beat Chelsea. With Everton still having a game in hand and Watford on schedule I would say Leeds in trouble. Arsenal and Spurs do their part and look how close they are to Chelsea now. Could be a 3 man race for 3rd and 4th in Premier League now although Chelsea have Watford and Leeds, but man are they tanking right now. Tuchel second season syndrome. Seen it at Dortmund, seen at PSG. How much longer before he starts having player issues? Next season? Lucky Abramovich gone as the rope with him the shortest of any team.

I say by this time next season he's gone, maybe sooner.

One thing about Chelsea, that Lukaku signing a disaster. Bayern is sniffing for Lukaku with possible Lewey move. That would be a terrible signing. Big clubs and big games the bulk of his career not great.

Would be hilarious if Tuchel out and Poch in next season. They traded places at PSG last year.

Chelsea's recruitment is shockingly bad and has been for a while now. Can you imagine how crippling the following purchases would be for a legit funded club?

(in pounds)
Kai Havertz - 75M
Timo Werner - 53M
Kepa - 72M
Lukaku - 98M

At least now the days of Chelsea throwing silly money after bad contracts is gone.

I think only the Havertz one long term will be worth it. The others yikes. Werner will be back in Bundesliga next season.

Wow Man U, Hideous, And I read Man City might sign Pogba on a free? Don’t do it Pep.

Well that hurt Liverpool chances today. Great for Spurs but they need some help still with an Arsenal loss or two. Chelsea still tanking. If Arsenal win tomorrow 1 point behind Chelsea.

Speaking of Chelsea it sounds like Tuchel and Pulisic have a rift. Tuchel right on schedule. I hear rumors Pulisic heading to Serie A. Rudiger off to Real Madrid already.

Well looks tough for anyone to catch Arsenal for Top 4 now. Spurs absolutely have to beat Arsenal this week and hope for a slip up after against Newcastle or Everton for Arsenal. Not unlikely. Even a tie would be good for Spurs. All of sudden Everton has turned it around and Newcastle now tougher too. Two weeks ago praising Jesse Marsch and now I think he and Leeds are doomed. Both Burnley and Everton have really picked it up last two weeks.

What a huge win for Everton. This may be good enough to keep them in the EPL next season

All comes down the the NLD this thursday. Spurs win that and they're just a point back with a vastly superior goal differential.

Arsenal's remaining games are @Newcastle and the final home vs Everton.
Spurs have home vs Burnley before closing the season @Norwich.

If the gooners are to drop points, I look to their trip to Newcastle. I could see a draw in that one, and that would be enough for Spurs to overtake 4th. Zero room for error tho.

Side note, i really got a kick out of Spurs hurting Liverpool's title hopes and Klopp's crying afterwards.

Not out of the realm of possibility that Chelsea fully bottle the season and drop out of top 4. They would have to lose like every game, which is not terribly likely, but they're playing right now like they really want to be in Europa next season.

klopp is a sore loser. Doesn't happen often but when it happens he whines. Might want to coach Alexander-Arnold's defense better. That might be the real issue.

I love it. Cries and complains when a team smartly does not commit suicide against his attack. The english media apparently love to take his side too for some reason.

Spurs played their gameplan and frankly, they had the better chances. Could have snuck out of there with all 3 points with that chance at the very end. They took 8 points out of 12 against City and Liverpool this season. No other team comes close.

Man City going undefeated next season

:gaah:

Probably why they weren't interested in offering a fair price for Kane this past summer. They had plans on Haaland.

Money wins again

Not surprised. Pep is a checkbook manager.

Only positive for the rest of the clubs is that he gets hurt alot. Muscle type injuries. Missed 16 games this year, and last year 12. Hopefully, not chronic for Man City. Really hurt Dortmund in key games.
