EPL 2022/2023

Geez Liverpool. Back to back losses to Leeds and Forest. Is that correct?

Top 4 this year? Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs?
And Klopp whinging as usual. I used to like him, but he’s gotten worse than Mourinho ever was.

Whining about injuries galore. But I understand where he is thinking. Management didn't give him as much depth. Already whined they can't keep with City spending.

Injuries, spending, fixtures congestion, the pitch, the weather, always something. Just once I want to hear him say “we got outplayed”, “they were the better side” or “we played terrible”

It was a bad day. LFC top 4 chances look on life support.

Yeah he’s a terrible loser.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are ESPN is the worldwide leader of shitty soccer takes. Literally any article they put out you can just toss in the garbage.

Spurs to this point this season: playstyle has been very spotty and goals have been on the low end, Sonny has been nowhere near top form, without Kulusevski they lack creativity in the final third. Tired legs have really exposed their general lack of depth in many areas.

And despite that, they are off to one of their best starts in the league for 70 years and currently on top of their group in UCL, needing only a draw to advance....and of course we have ESPN firing off dark cloud rumor articles. I don't think they have a single reporter in any club's camp.

RE: Conte - he will stay as long as the board continues to back him and give him reassurances that they want to win as badly as he does.

Chelsea and United are right there as well. It will be a tight race

Speaking of Chelsea and United….lol today. But there is Newcastle again rolling.

90+8 Brentwood goal to beat City lol. City at times even with Haaland they go through droughts of can’t scoring even getting shots in games. See both Dortmund games in UCL for reference. Seems like a typical Pep team still that someone will take out in this year’s UCL eventually. One can hope.

Newcastle win again...this time over Chelsea. That +18 goal differential impressive!

Its damning how much they have trouble scoring

Legend in his own mind now. Cut this garbage loose Man U. Good luck Portugal lol.

Since we are officially at the break, i think it a good time for mid-way surprises.

For me, the biggest good surprise has to be Arsenal. I think most expected them to be in top 4 contention, but no one expected them to have such a great first half of the season. Pains me to say it, but they are clicking in a big way. The other big surprise is Newcastle. Everyone has them on their radar as a team that could be in top 6 contention. I don't think many had them as top 4 contenders. But here they are in 3rd.

Biggest disappointments have to be LFC and Chelsea. You can blame injuries and congested schedule on some of that, but Spurs have had to deal with those same things and both Chelsea and LFC are more complete squads than Spurs are. It'll be interesting to see how long Potter lasts with Chelsea. I think he's a top notch coach, might just be a toxic situation there. Also will be interesting to see how long Klopp lasts at Liverpool. No questions on his class, but this has been a really rough first half.

The other contender for biggest disappointment has to be West Ham. Currently in 16th and a far cry from European qualification that has become the new norm for them.

December 26 can’t come soon enough. 10 days and then it’s a full day of club soccer action.

7:30am to damn near 5pm of fun.

I CANT WAIT

Same here. I have to wait until late January for Bundesliga.

But a bit of humor before it all starts up again.
