EPL 2022/2023

Spurs lay another turd at home. The ENIC/Levy Out crowd is growing louder while other fans are getting upset at Conte for the teams lackluster performances this year. Getting ugly now.
I can understand that, but I looked at standings and Spurs still right there for Top 4. It's ugly yes, lots of time still. Ugly for other Top teams too right now. Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea blah. Son needs to get going, no excuses, same with Richarlison a pile of garbage so far too. Is Kulusevski back? Any winter transfer news?

Huge game today: Arsenal vs Newcastle. Two the biggest achievers/overachievers this season. Someone going to drop points today. For the teams trailing, it might be better if it is Newcastle. Arsenal so far ahead they will be hard to catch anyways.

Really tough 5 games for City.

Arsenal can run away with it

City next 5- AT CHELSEA, AT UNITED, HOME VS SPURS, HOME VS WOLVERHAMPTON, and AWAY VS Spurs

Solid chance they drop 5 points there.
They way Pep coaches this team at times, it is very possible. Gobs and gobs of talent and they have these weird games where they can't shoot or score. They were given God's gift to football ... the baby Jes......errr Ehrling and his 20 goals already, but here they are losing to Brentford and tieing Everton in the past few weeks. Hell Michel Arteta looks better than Pep right now..and that is a hard hunk of phlem to spit out.

Winter transfer news so far has been very Spursy...which is to say there are plenty of players the club have been linked to or are interested in, but nothing definitive or near completion. Obvious needs are at the wingback positions, particularly RWB and at central defense. Anything this window will likely be a player currently out of favor at their current club or a player at a smaller club that Spurs can buy at a good price.

With Sonny so bad this season and Richarlison being injured for a lot of it, Spurs attack has become pretty easy to defend. Simply flood Kane with coverage and dare anyone else in the squad to make a play. Right now, no one else besides Kulusevski (minor injury but still day-to-day) can make anything happen. It's telling that Spurs top goalscorers outside of Kane are Bentancur and Hojbjerg. Those 2 also have as many assists as Sonny with 2. "Out of form" doesn't even begin to describe how bad Son has been. He's mostly just been a flat out liability. No finishing touch, unable to take on any defenders or hold on to the ball under pressure, passing range meager at best.

Newcastle tough defensively. Stalemate today.

United level on points with Newcastle for 3rd

Much better from Spurs today and a much needed good result to turn the general doom and gloom mood that has been around for a while. Maybe equally importantly, the young players looked really good.

Kane now within 10 goals of Rooney. In 191 fewer games

Chelsea vs Man City today. Two recent underachievers. Interesting that Chelsea has the same number EPL goals than Haaland. 20 each I think? Guys like Sterling, Mount, Havertz have done almost nothing consistently.

It was a good result. Started slow, but second half great. Even Sonny got a goal which has to help his confidence.

I think the important thing about that first half is that they didn't concede. It's been super ugly recently. The previous 10 matches (including 7 premier league) saw Spurs concede the first goal...and often the first 2 goals. This season, Spurs are the absolute best team in the 2nd half, but just the 11th best team in the first half. They need to permanently fix those early woes because depending on miracle comebacks every game will find you on the outside looking in for major tournaments next season.

That was a snooze fest. I don't see how Chelsea makes the Top 4. Can't score and injuries. Pulisic and Sterling got hurt today early. The announcers mentioned that is 10 top 11 types players out. See if I can count: Sterling, Pulisic, Mount, James, Chilwell, Kante, Mendy, Jorginho, ?, ?. It was so bad Abameyang replaced Sterling and then got replaced himself.

More bad news for Liverpool:

Spurs barely escaped FA Cup today. Once again thanks to Kane. 18 shots and only 1 on goal....but 1 is enough. I hate Cup games. Always tricky.

Newcastle out versus Sheffield Wednesday lol. Only 2nd loss of the year.

First look at Gakpo for Liverpool. Need him badly to step in and step up like he was doing at Eindhoven.

Allisson wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Nunez. Finally. Needed that.

Ok the FA Cup is officially weird. Win you move on, tie you have to play again? I was watching Liverpool Wolves and thinking I am getting penalty kicks and nada. Replay in two weeks. I must have been confused with the Bundesliga: tie, extra time, penalty kicks, no second chance.
