Shit. I thought the games were tomorrow and Sunday. Well, that’s half of them down. Saving grace is I’m 2 for 2 on picks….though I called Spain-Switzerland a snooze fest that would probably go 1-0 with Spain playing keep away.

I should have given the Swiss their due respect.

Word is that the servers been crashing. Hammerdown is traveling so not able to quickly see it’s out I guess.

I wonder if FIFA will stop ranking Belgium #1 if they fail to win another tournament. Hasn't stopped them in the past.

They won't be number #1 again for awhile. Classic underachievers. Never should have been #1 ever until you win something. Italy looks like they may heading to number #1. They are going to be tough to beat.

They are number 4 right now. Might be true. But I think Italy or England will be number 1 if they win.

By the way, I am looking at Balon D' Or after today. Some of the top candidates really gaffed with their loaded teams in the Euros. Makes me wonder who really deserves it...wink wink wink.... since last year no Euro competition was a factor for not giving it.

Good chance since they'd be winning a more competitive tournament compared to Copa America.

Yup. I thought before Euros he had no chance but the France and (usual) Belgium shit shows could help him.

Ok…I was early in calling my 2 for 2 today. But it stayed true.

Caught the highlights. The goal tending in that Spain Swiss game was phenomenal. Especially Sommer when they were down to 10. All they could hope for at that point was to get to penalties, and he helped get them there. Even got them a stop in PK.

But, while they earned the chance to win it with PK….they did not come through and Spain’s goalie was the one that looked best.

FIFA rankings never make sense. How can Belgium be #1 when they’ve won fuck all?
