Fat Tuesday thread of Fatness

Red Bull has crazy amounts of sugar. But I’m sure you’re aware of that. It’s like drinking a gallon of sweet tea.

aspartame.

Better off taking natural caffeine like black coffee or if you don’t like coffee, caffeine pills if you need it.
yes, that's what I said

be a man and drink black coffee

That seems to be the general consensus, but it's incorrect.

Red Bull has less sugar per fl oz than Coke does.

barely

Red Bull has 28 grams in 8.46 ounces = 3.2 g/fl oz
Coke has 39 grams in 12 ounces = 3.3 g/fl oz

"barely" is less.

In any case, I'm older than you and in better shape, so the 17 fl oz or so that I drink a month aren't a big issue.

you're in better shape than me?

39 grams of sugar in a 12oz Coke compared to 27 grams in a Red Bull. Both massive amounts. That’s 7 tea spoons of sugar, or 14 tea spoons of sugar if you’re drinking two a week.

Here’s what 35g of sugar looks like:

Well, first of all, you freely spill the details of your life, including exercise and diet habits all over these threads.

Secondly, your mom told me.

I have several follow-up questions:
1) How do you have time to unpack the data for a comparison to Coke vs. Redbull?
2) Is that a lighter next to the digital scale? And why?
3) Why do you have a digital scale?

you might be in better shape but I highly doubt it is significant

Dude. I'm not saying it doesn't have sugar. All I'm saying is the "CRAZY AMOUNTS" of sugar is overblown. You said drinking a Red Bull is like drinking a gallon of sweet tea. That's retarded. There's nearly 300g of sugar in a gallon of sweet tea.

I'd bet my middle testicle that you were surprised to learn that it has less sugar than Coke.

Also, it's not like I have one a day, or even one a week. It's not a big deal, particularly given how little sugar I consume otherwise.
