I would have said Hill Street Blues but that’s more police procedure than detective show. Tough call between Moonlighting and Magnum but went with Magnum PI

Sledge Hammer > Mike Hammer, but the ending sucked.

And I consider MacGyver a detective show since he was always solving crimes and fixing problems. And MacGyver slays all.

It was so good, IMO it had the same feel as CHIPs did.

I think it came on a night that I worked late.

Close to same for Seinfeld. Watched only in reruns and seems like when I did watch it was kne I had seen before. That came on Thursdays and working car dealership ment late Thursdays
