Favorite Restaurant Chains

Wow!!!

I ... I definitely didn't expect it to be that easy. You really must have a good buzz goin'!!!

They're awesome!
Salsa sounds good to me, but I'm not sure if that's an option (and I'm not sure what I think of the idea of what Waffle House's salsa would be). Over the last decade, or so, they added a bunch of new options. The options used to just be "scattered, smothered, covered, and chunked*."

(chunked is li'l cubes of ham)
They have salsa and it's just the jar stuff but there are worst grocery store brands.

I don't care for that interspecies mingling :nonono:

i looked on the satellite map -
there's a park there now called
spruce park on the river -
theres a steep bank of rock
that we'd drag the boat up -
i think grandpa used to call it lybecks
cause that who lived near the access pt -
access is completely changed now -
used to be able to access via east evergreen,
and get off near the north end of the park thats there now,
probably along that tree line -

Oh ya, that's long-gone. I once had to take out there right by the hwy cuz it was dark af already, and it's like another 30 minutes at least to Old Steel. Fishing was hot, and couldn't tear myself away. Floated 45 minutes in pitch black to get to that spot.

Wouldn't recommend it.

tWife was not impressed.

I don't trust anyone that doesn't like waffles.

I'm certainly glad I didn't learn that about him when I first started posting with him.
I would have never given him a chance, and I would have missed a lot of laughs.

Since they have jalapenos now, it makes sense they have salsa.
I just couldn't remember what all you could add to your hashbrowns, these days.
What do they call it if you get them with salsa ... "sauced?"

I don't get the attraction to Chipotle and never have, never will. It's the most bland "Mexican" food I've ever had and the portions-to-cost is paltry at best. The overall value is nonexistent. It's expensive and not good. I feel like the price is double what it should be for what you get.
of the quick service mexican places it has the best burrito. There's a Blue Coast closer to me, but that place sucks. Both the Qdoba and Salsaritas close to me closed. My favorite back in RTP was Cosmic Cantina near Duke. Place was a fucking dump, but they could make a kick ass burrito the size of your forearm for like $6.

I like Olive Garden.

:comeatmebro:

talk about a place that went down hill. That was the fucking place to go back in the 90s. Fucking 60+ minute wait every night. Not that I could find 12 people that want to eat there, but if I could, I could get a table for 12 on a Saturday night just walking in.

the fuck kind of sad thread is this? what are your favorite chain restaurants?

so, you live in an area with no good mom and pop joints? you travel a lot and don't ask the locals about the mom and pop shops? You trying to keep malls alive?

No, I don't like Applebees. Why would you say I do?
well, you're wearing a top gun hat and talk a big game making it seem like you served and there's an applebees outside the gate of every base i've been to....

I rarely eat at chain places, but when I was in my 20's it was without a doubt B-Dubs. They changed for the much worse over a decade ago ... like they decided people like rubbery wings. I won't eat there again.

Red Robin is what I'd probably pick for a chain restaurant these days, but like I said, I rarely go to chain places anymore. I prefer little greasy spoons who are gracious and hospitable.
wings are wings, always liked b-dubs, had one around most bases i went to. beer, wings, and buzz time trivia, worked for me.

I eat chipotle probably more than most, especially when traveling, but comparing a slop-filled burrito to actual mexican food... no way. Best mexican I've had outside of Mexico is in Los Angeles... wonder why.
i miss chipolte. would go there once or twice a week. been working for longer than i can recall. i will say the quality dipped after i came back from overseas. don't know if that had to do with the looks of the new crew, but man, if the old cat weren't all..............

they really are, can really only fuck them up if you're working at it. size can vary. went to this one place that i wasn't sure if they were from a fucking quail. so fucking tiny, which was a shame as they had like a billion sauces and the ones i tried were all good.

I never said I served in the military and I don't dine at Applebee's dipshit.

I would eat at the one in the Detroit airport every time I had to connect through there. Better than most of the other options.
Yeah. I'm not saying it's amazing, or that it's authentic Chinese or whatever, but for what it is, it's good.

I also hate that douchey thing the waiters do where they mix up a sauce for you. Look, dickhead. If you want to give me a sauce with my meal, just put it on the table when you bring me my food. I’m not impressed with your ability to mix shit together in front of me. I feel the same way about tableside guacamole. I went to school in California. They teach guacamole in elementary school right after the California mission project.
Tend to agree.

Notable exception is when a place makes a real Caesars dressing right in front of you.

Like many, it was fucking great when it first opened.

Popularity and expansion ruins em' all.

Their barbacoa is decent.
