Final Friday (narrated by Dave Chapelle)

Got my haircut and I damn I look good.

I think for the most part most engines and fuel systems are built pretty well these days so its not a big deal to put over 100k on a car as long as you keep them maintained. I can remember when I was a kid if you had a car that had 100k it was like a ticking time bomb

Huh, I've always bought four tires at once. Could I have been saving all this time?? lol

I like the Toyota RAV4s, and I've thought about a Honda CRV. Would like a Volvo but that's out of the budget!
Yeah, you probably can. Tire shop isn't going to talk you out of buying less than 4 at a time, but usually the tires on the rear don't wear as fast as tires on the front. You can buy 2 tires, put them on the rear, move the old rear tires to the front, and be out the door for half the cost.

Once a year is plenty for the mileage I drive. Less than 10K per year. Adapt your chores to your lifestyle.
Yea, no go for me. I am putting about 30k on a year. That should hopefully decrease dramatically in the coming year

Every car I've owned has gone over 100K, so far. Haven't hit that on the Mazda 3 yet, but my driving on that thing went way down after I got laid off then took a job in Manhattan. I went from 40 miles one way to my old office to 20 miles round trip driving to the train station and back. Pandemic reduced my driving on that car even more. I'm going to pay that thing off before it hits 80K for sure.

I am around 76k right now. It had like 22k when I bought it. I am planning to hold onto it as long as it runs

Well they're only about a year old at this point, so God willing, I don't need to replace them for a hot minute. Especially since I barely went anywhere during the pandemic.

Don't miss that stuff one bit.
Its been expensive for sure. Both kids should be driving within the end of the year and I am going to be working closer to home. If I cut down to 15k a year that will be a welcome change

I think the last two cars we had both got almost or past 200K. Don't remember if the Elantra was over 200K when we traded it in for the Outback, but I know my wife's Corolla had like 250K on it when it died and we bought the Mazda. Only 5 payments left on the Mazda, then it's time to start socking money away for the next car.

I thought you were bald brah?
