Freaky Friday

Well, it is said that you learn from your failures, right?
Yea...well I should have learned when I did the same thing last week. Got the voltmeter out after getting buzzed and checked to make sure it was dead.

Idiot.

Sometimes you have to fail more than once to learn... I shocked myself helping my exes father install wiring for his office... Not fun

I turned off the breaker that killed the outlet right next to the switch and assumed they were on the same breaker. Turns out I was wrong.

Left hand is still a little tingly.

Going to walk the dog and let it go away.
Did you get The Stanger in?

It could have been wired incorrectly and the breaker you switched off should have turned it off... Seen that happen as well... Granted that was only on Holmes on Holmes but still

There's one breaker for kitchen outlets and another for 1st floor lights. I should have switched them both off

Just finished changing out the last bad light switch in my kitchen.

Not a good idea to check if you turned off the right breaker by touching the ground and the line in, FYI

My way of checking was plugging my Echo into the outlet right next to the switch and putting music on so I could hear it from the basement.

I flipped the breaker and the music went off.

The outlet and the switch were not on the same breaker...

Should have had this out from the start but I got complacent.
