planning on getting my Christmas tree this weekend but last I heard there was a shortage of bigger trees at the farm I go to...so fingers crossed.

Finished up Christmas shopping for the kids today. The bike shop has free storage until Christmas Eve so that’s a bonus - don’t have to worry about hiding a bike.

School was closed today because of that shooting. Makes me wonder if there was a threat. I heard there were at others in the area.

Hell of a night last night. Got home from my brother’s funeral last night around 5:30. Took a quick nap and showered and then Mr. Kobe and I headed downtown to catch a show from my favorite band…had the tickets for months. Lil’ Kobe was babysitting the boys.

Just as we were pulling into downtown Minneapolis, Lil’ Kobe calls in a panic and tells us one of the dogs, while trying to steal food off the stove, somehow lit a burner and it started the pizza box and cake box on fire and that the fire department was on the way because she called 911 after getting the boys out of the house. She got them out to the mailbox and waited for the police to get there.

When we got home the fire was out and the only damage was to the pizza and the cake. A lot of smoke, but because it was on the stove too and there was nothing else to burn around the stove, it burned itself out. So no damage other than our house smelling like a campfire.

So Mr. Kobe stayed home and I drove back up to Minneapolis for the show. And the police showed back up with a new birthday cake after I left. And now Lil’ Kobe is going to get a commendation from the fire chief at the next city council meeting.

Obviously as opposed to not believing there’s a shortage and eventually getting one anyways.
