Put Saban, or really any top coach in Lincoln and there is likely to be an immediate uptick in recruiting because he has a history of winning and putting guys into the NFL.

When you hire someone like Scott Frost, there is a "wait and see" tendency that isn't there with a known top coach.

Some of you don’t realize Trev Alberts hired Dean Blaze to coach hockey in Omaha several years back. Who he hires this time might surprise all of us.

A large amount of blue chip recruits on a yearly basis. I believe what I read was -- Nick Saban AVERAGES 2 five star recruits a year since he has taken over the Bama program, from just the state of Alabama.

So basically - every year, he starts with 2 five star guys from his own backyard. Why? Because they were born and raised on Bama football. Born and Raised a Bama fan. Now those two elite recruits essentially give the coaching staff two of the best players in the country recruiting for them at all the national camps and national 7 on 7 tournies.

That is what Lincoln and the state of Nebraska doesn't have.

Dude I understand what you are saying about location. But it’s not the end all be all. Of Alabamas 4 heisman winners under Saban not one from the state of Alabama. Hell 2 weren’t even fromthe same time zone (Ingram and Young). I’m not saying location isn’t important but to pretend it’s the end all be all is off.

Nebraska gets a coach that can string together a few 10 win seasons overtime they can turn the thing around. Totally elite, maybe maybe not. But to say they are stuck because of location is BS imo. Especially with NIL coming out.

UT was caught with Dodds heading out the door.. a terrible hire in Patterson, who got axed within a year- year and a half, then to a terrific person in Mike Perrin who did all he could but wasn't an experienced AD (he was interim). With Perrin running the show, the HTX donor faction took the lead and the only candidate was Tom Herman.

There was no stability til CDC and the new UT President took over.

But again there is no secret donor base that's funneling money to recruits to come to UT. Donors want their named attached to something for the most part. In the age of NIL however.... Selling your brand/City is a better deal in Austin than most any other place in the country.

So maybe it's secret corporations in Austin buying recruits?
